I spent two nights at Les Muscadins in early May and I really loved this little hotel. It is the perfect location for visiting Mougins, because it is at the foot of the hill up to the medieval village. I did not see too many hotels in the immediate vicinity of the village and so this one wins on location alone.

Rooms:

I liked my room here very much. The bathroom was fine and the room was well proportioned. It is hard for me to really judge this room objectively, because I had just come from Chateau de Berne and my room there was soooooo amazing. I will say that our room had a lovely view.

Food:

I had breakfast here and thought it was a little overpriced for what it was, but getting to have breakfast on their terrace and the view of the Bay of Canne is almost worth it.

Service:

The service was very good. The only snafu I had was when I went to check out and there was no one to help with luggage (there are no elevators here so don't stay here if you have trouble climbing stairs). Not a huge deal as I was able to handle all of my luggage myself in two trips.

Overall:

This hotel has a charm to it and the location is really great. For the money it is a terrific bet on the riviera. It also has a private gated parking lot which is a very nice addition. If you are looking for someplace quaint to stay on the rivieria and you don't want to be in the hustle and bustle of Canne, Nice or the other waterfront towns, this is the place for you. Also, this hotel is in very close proximity to some great restaurants - Le Feu Follet being my favorite.

I would totally stay here again if I ever get back to Mougins.

I was a little reluctant to write this review because my concern is that if everybody discovers this 'little gem' it might be difficult to get a room in the future!.... but as someone who appreciates being able to read the reviews of other places I felt I should.
I stayed here for 2 wks with my 12yr old daughter in July 2006, having previously had a short stay in 2004. Once again I was not disappointed, the service from all staff was superb and our room was excellent, with a separate dressing area, great bathroom and lovely view of the bay of Cannes. My normally 'shy' 12yr old was even happy to dine alone on a couple of occasions, an indication of how well she was looked after by the staff!
It is a delightful small hotel, all rooms individually decorated and there is the added benefit of being able to use the facilities of the larger and very beautiful 'Mas Candille', such as the pool and Spa, as courtesy transfers can be arranged for the 3min transfer!

The best hotel in the south of France. Great staff,Great food , great service,great location.
My wife and I stayed there at the end of May 2006.We hope to return again in the near future- cant be soon enough.

Les Muscadins is definitely the best price-value on the Cote d'Azur. We found it difficult to find a superior hotel in this area for under Euro 200. Not only was this place inexpensive by comparison but we couldn't have imagined having a better stay if we had paid twice as much. It is as good as most of the Relais&Chateaux hotels we stayed in.

Rooms and interior are clean, classy and very comfortable. The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly. Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the bay of Cannes was a daily treat.

It's a great location for touring the Cote d'Azur and a five minute walk to the restaurants in the almost too perfect old Mougins-village.
