I found this hotel through Trip Advisor recommendations. It was not the highest rated in terms of popularity--only no. 6 when I booked-- but the other hotels were fully booked even in the middle of November.

I was very happy with this hotel, however. I stayed here for three nights and agree with the other positive reviews on this site.

It`s clean, quiet, the staff are very friendly and helpful and its very central. There is a free computer to use in the lobby and also WIFI in the lobby if you have your own computer. (Note: no WIFI in rooms, only dial up via telephone).

The rooms are spacious by European standards as is the bathroom. There is a separate toilet room. The TV is small. Nice Occitaine toileteries. There is a fridge in the room with a complimentary bottle of water.

Breakfast is normally a stiff 15 Euros extra (buffet). However, if you stay more than one night you can get it for 10 Euros as long as you commit to eat all your breakfasts there. That's still pricey. I had a Contintental breakfast at the Atmosphere Restaurant by the Flower Market for 6.50. It included coffee or hot chocolate, orange juice, a croissant and a baguette with butter and jam. For 2 Euros more you can get eggs.

If coming from the airport, a taxi will cost you 25 Euros excluding tip. There are two buses into Nice from the airport, but they stop a 10-15 minute walk away so not recommended if you have luggage or don't know your way to the hotel. The bus station is a 20 minute walk away and the train station 25-30 minutes.

All in all, this is a great find in an expensive city. I will be back.

We visited Nice with our daughter to celebrate one of her special birthdays. We chose Le Grimaldi Hotel at random, and what a success. The staff all speak excellent or very good english, are most welcoming, friendly, knowledgable about the area and know the best way to travel around the area. Our bedrooms were superb. Very clean, with towels, sheets and pillowcases changed on a daily basis. The breakfast was excellent for our needs and the service too was excellent. The Hotel is situated on a quiet road and near to the old town, shops, cafes/restaurants, the train station and the bus garage. When next in Nice, we certainly shall use this Hotel.

We recently stayed at Le Grimaldi for the 3rd time and were again quite pleased. To me the best thing about the hotel is the friendly, helpful staff. They make excellent recommendations and will go over and beyond to be helpful.
We also like the fact that the hotel is small and charming. Our rooms have always been comfortable.
The location is quite good. It's easy to walk to most of the major places of interest but the area is quiet and safe.
One day we wanted to take the bus to St Paul de Vence and Sophie (the most excellent of the already excellent staff) told us we could just go down the street to the Place Grimaldi bus stop to catch the bus--how easy!
We always add breakfast to our room rate simply because we like to have our breakfast in the hotel which makes the breakfast charge a bit less. While I don't think it's a bargain, we like the ease of having breakfast in the hotel and the buffet is adequate for what we want.
We continue to be happy with Le Grimaldi and will stay there on our next visit.

This is a fantastic hotel in Nice, in a great location. Only a 5 minute walk from the beach and even closer to the main pedestrianisted streets where most of the restaurants and shops can be found.

My girlfriend and I had booked the superior room for our stay and the room was a good size and very comfortable and clean. The bathroom was immaculate, with plenty of space.

I would also recommend the restaurant around the corner, called "The Steak House" ... amazing steaks (other food was fantastic too!) and very reasonably priced too!!
