“Lovely Stay”

Hotel Beau Rivage

Jul 22, 2008

We stayed at the Beau Rivage from the 3rd - 7th July.

We were a group of 6 girls in total and we booked 2 x Delux rooms and requested 3 single beds in each room which the Hotel agreed to do in advance for us.

The rooms were quite spacious, bathrooms were a bit small, but then we only needed them to get showered, dressed and out! Beds were very comfortable and clean.

Our friends room (next door) opened out into a little courtyard which was nice, ours just looked out onto it which was a bit strange as it would have been nice to also have had the access. But we just used their room for this.

We had a bit of a nightmare with the key cards as we kept on being locked out of our room (like 15 times) we didnt realise until the last day that every time a new key card is issued all three need to be changed at the same time...thus, we ended up with about 30 keys!...

The Hotel is very modern and its location is Superb.
The private beach is expensive €17 per day but if you can afford it, do it. You get front row loungers (apparently these are more expensive) an umbrella and towels. The beach guys are very helpful and food and drinks are yummy although a tad pricey.

A dj sets up at 3pm every afternoon at the beach bar which is great if you like that sort of music (funk, dance) - we did so we were lucky, and you can sit and sip cocktails in very comfortable chairs looking out at the sea.

Only downside to the hotel is that their cocktail bar (by reception) was never maned so we could never get a drink. We ended up going to the bar next door. Bit silly as it looked lovely and we would have had drinks their every night if it had been open.

Overall, we had a great time. Great location, nice staff.
Nice is a brilliant city and all the locals we met were very friendly.

“Outstanding Customer Care”

Hotel Beau Rivage

4 of 5 stars
Chicago, Illinoiks
Jun 20, 2008

I stayed there after attending the film festival in Cannes. I was sharing a room with a friend. The manager of the hotel, whose name is Gils, was just outstanding. When arrived, we felt our room was small in comparison to the one in the photo's. He immediately offered us a larger room. He went out of his way to insure we were happy with our stay. I needed additional rooms at one point due to differences in sleeping habits and he immediately accomodated me. He understood my concerns as a guest and wanting to keep my sanity in terms of shared room situations. Actually, his kindness saved a friendship. Sometimes, when you agree to share accomodations with friends it is not such a good idea. Everyone was very friendly, especially the bellman. The location was great and their beach access, bar and restaurants were wonderful. Definitely in the center of everything. We found it via an Ad in a french fashion magazine and it couldn't have been a better stay, in spite of the fact that we did not have a water view. Thanks to you Gils for taking such good care of me!! I was sorry the airline could not accomodate my request to extend my stay. I would gladly re-book at this hotel on my next visit!

“Wouldn't Go Back”

Hotel Beau Rivage

Jun 19, 2008

I stayed at Beau Rivage only one night and that was plenty. The location is good but that meant no parking. The receptionist was less than interested in booking me in and even less interested in giving me directions to the nearest car park. The bellman disappeared as soon as my bags arrived and I was given a room on the 5th floor with a separate lift that meant carrying my bags up a set of stairs. The room was attractive and the bed was comfortable but the noise from the alleyway was extreme. I discovered in the morning that there should have been a robe but there wasn't, and the shower cap that was supposed to be in the little box also wasn't. There was no information about internet rates and the bathroom was generally dirty with balls of hair strategically located. The reception staff all seemed to be suffering severe ennui and checkout was interrupted 3 times so that the receptionist could give maps to passing customers. Sadly I won't be going back in a hurry.

“great location, very convenient”

Hotel Beau Rivage

moscow
May 16, 2008

I stayed at this hotel for two weeks last august. It’s a great location if you are looking for fun and party – it is right next door to the old town where most of the bars and restaurants are and across the road from the beach – where they sometimes organize fabulous beach parties with fireworks and the best dj’s. There was one such event on the last night of my stay and I must say it was quite impressive and being a hotel guest it’s easier to get better tables. During the day the beach is usually full (it must be the best in town) and so is the beachside restaurant, so don’t expect fast table service, and it’s quite pricey, but I suppose the location is worth it.

As to the hotel itself - I’d say great, but a bit overpriced. I found the food selection at breakfast was a bit scarce for a 4* hotel. The design was good – very modern and functional. The room was a bit on the small side and a bit dark, but very stylish and comfortable although the TV didn’t work properly. The bathroom was quite spacious and clean. The staff was very nice and helpful most of the time.

“Great location, comfortable boutique hotel”

Hotel Beau Rivage

May 9, 2008

We deliberated over a few hotels for our stay in 2006. We chose this due to the photos on the Hotel's website and reviews on TA.

The location is fantastic and I have still not found a more centrally located hotel in Nice( with such modern rooms).

The rooms are slightly on the small side, however we had a small bay window to look out at evening which was good fun.

The Plasma TV's were cool too, we ordered a few CD'S to listen some nights.

The hotel was clean, bathroom really nice but had annoying windows at the top facing the beds- what is the point in having windows in a bathroom?

We didn't eat or drink in the hotel as it was a bit pricey, however there are many places nearby.

Beds were really comfortable but ask for firm pillows, for me the pillows were to fluffy. Each to their own, of course!

The rooms are not worth in excess of £100, $200 a night but if you get a decent deal, then I'd recommend a stay here.
