I was worried that our stay at the Hotel Brice was going to be a disaster, but to my surprise we enjoyed it immensity. We were booked into a full size bed, but they upgraded us to a double bed with a single. The bed was not all that comfortable and the bed spreads needed updated. The courtyard was lovely and we would pick up a sandwich and return to eat it in the courtyard. The beach was a good 10 minute walk though if you wanted to swim. The front desk was very accommodating.

I booked with booking.com and got a deal for a single for 4 nights - 336 euros, which wasn't too bad. I looked on tripadvisor and saw it was quite highly ranked, so went for it.

The hotel is easy to find, just a couple of blocks from Promenade des Anglais and conveniently located near some shops. Subway was down the street (ideal for lunch and open til late) as well as off-licenses where you can buy drinks cheaply and store them in the small (yet noisy) fridge in the room (which comes empty). There are bars and restaurants nearby, including the famous Negresco, which sadly I didn't sample their menu.

The number 98 from the airport is fairly close (5 min walk), the Old Town about a 20-30 min walk and the port about 30-40 min walk.

When I arrived, the receptionist produced a leaflet outlining tours (which was well worth it - I visited Monaco and Eze and had a fantastic day). He even booked it for me. I was produced with a key on a really heavy keyring which I didn't like, but got the lift to my 3rd floor room, which I'd requested.

The room was small, but although I'd asked for a single, I received a small queen, which I was pleased with. The bed had crisp white sheets, a brown fleece and yellow throw, reminding me of the 70s/80s! But they were clean. The bed was firm but I found it okay.

The room was cleaned every day - the furniture was moved slightly so you could tell they'd been in and vacuumed under the bed etc. I was given a shower room which was quite tight getting out of the shower and squeezing past the toilet. I'm small so it was okay but a larger person might have had trouble. When they were cleaning the room next door, I saw there was a small bath so this may be able to be requested, unless it's reserved for doubles. It's worth checking. The bathroom was clean, with only a couple of nooks and crannies requiring some attention. There were mini shower gel, shampoo and soap, as well as a shower cap. The bathroom was in white and quite modern.

One thing I hated was the noise. I thought this hotel was sound-proofed but I had only 1 night's uninterrupted sleep, which was when I had earplugs in. Up until about 11pm and around 7am each morning, I could hear either doors all along the coridoor being opened and closed (which was quite loud) and I heard next door's water running, the hairdryer blowing and also someone coughing.

The hotel had a nice lounge area and a single computer for Internet use (free of charge). This was handy. The bar area looked nice, but I did not use it, nor can I comment on breakfast or dinner. Breakfast was expensive though at 11 euros - at Coffee to Go on Meyerbeer you can ger a small baguette, croissant, coffee and juice for 6 euros. Or wander to the Old Town where there are plently of smaller cafes.

Overall, I had a lovely time and found the room cosy. The one thing that totally put me off was the noise.

Yes it was dated, but for me, the cleanliness compensated. It just depends on personal preferences.

I think I'd look elsewhere before staying here again but wouldn't completely rule it out if I took my earplugs again!

This Hotel is in the center of Nice, in a nice position, the building is ok, thay also have a lovely garden. The personel is quite kind. The rooms are ok but very small (at least the double room in which I slept). I hate the fact of having a mini-bar completely empty (what am I supposed to do with it? Buy some drinks at the supermarket and put them in there?)

The price it is not so good (78 euros for a double room withouth breakfast - that would have costed 11 euros per person) compared to other solusions you can have in Nice.

I do not want to say anything bad, I mean, everyone (bar and reception) was very kind, room ok, location very good, just it is not an outstanding hotel (even keeping in mind the price that is not so high).

Just average.

Hotel Brice is wonderful. I stayed there at the beginning of February with my husband. We had a holiday in Nice for our first wedding anniversary. Tha location of the hotel is absolutely great. There are a lot of small restaurants in the area. Also the hotel is quite near to the Flower market and the shopping area.
The rooms are with quite old furnitures but are of good size and very clean. The breakfast is very nice and is really good for its price.
I recommend the hotel to anyone who is not seeking for luxury, but for a nice and quiet place for a reasonable price in the center of the city.
