Our party of six were there for 3 nights.

Rooms were very pleasant, especially ours which was a corner room.

Quiet, due to superb soundproofing and well centrally placed, about 5 minute walk to Station and 10 minute walk to promenade les Anglais.

Nice breakfast, very cheery and helpful staff.

We had a tiny room (8 ft by 12 ft with a double bed in it) so space was at a premium. It was okay for us since we were just staying overnight before flying home. It did have a small balcony which was a nice touch but the door was partially blocked by the TV so you kind of had to squeeze through. Upon our arrival the staff immediately checked to see if the room was ready (actually went up to see) which it was. Staff very friendly and helpful including providing a map and recommending some things to see. Elevator was small but interesting. One person with luggage but it was fun. Good location. Less than 10 minutes to the train station and 15 to the beach. Easy walk to Place Messina and Old Nice. Pastry shops and pizzerias nearby so you can eat inexpensively if you want. Very clean and was just what we were looking for.

We stayed here 8 nights in July/August 2004 and whilst the rooms are small this is more than made up for by the friendly staff, clean rooms, excellent breakfast and location.

I stayed at the Kyriad twice last year (2003) and intend to stay there again this year. The hotel is very clean, beds comfortable and shower/bathrooms fine. Reception staff can range from very helpful to indifferent, but that depends on their stress levels. On my second visit last year, a friend came with me (I had previously visited with my husband) and she was not particularly impressed. However, this was because she is used to the standard and size of hotel rooms in the USA.
Unfortunately she experienced problems with her shower, and I had problems with my room door - but these were sorted out reasonably quickly. We originally had two single rooms but on separate floors, but after our problems we were moved to two double rooms on the same floor at no extra cost. So I feel the management were very fair about this. I would recommend this hotel from the point of view that it is in a quiet but convenient part of Nice (near the station, and not too far from the promenade/shops/restaurants etc). The breakfast is plentiful - if you get to the dining room early enough and the food is fresh. Probably the main reason I like to stay there is that it is inexpensive compared to some hotels. I previously stayed at one on the Victor Hugo Boulevard which cost a lost more and was not up to the standard of the Kyriad. .
Nice is NICE - so go there!
