While the Petit Palais was very sweet (pink and peach decor), it was quite tricky to find. We had a car and the street was narrow and there was little room to park so we paid extra to park off the street in one of their few private bays. The rooms were adequate, although the bathroom was old and only had a hand-held shower nozzle that made washing your hair very hard. My husband and I had to take turns holding it for each other. The breakfast was fairly good - by European standards. We took a taxi into the hub of Nice for dinner. We took a recommendation from the man at the front desk, but the restaurant turned out to be terrible. The service was unpleasant to say the least - the waiter did not understand me when I asked for Sauvignon Blanc. He repeated it back to me and asked "what is sauvignon blanc"? An obvious problem for him that I was not french and did not speak french. He then brought me Rose. On the way home, the taxi driver chatted pleasantly, and as we paid him, he charged us an extra 5 Euro. We asked why and were told it was a night time cost - it was 10pm. Upon checking this, we were told this was not correct and no such charge existed.
