“Good for price with great views”

Flots d'Azur

Having read the rather mixed reviews here I arrived at Flots D'Azure with some trepidation. However, I think that in general you get what you pay for and there's nowhere else I found right on the Promenade du Soleil charging such a low price. We had room number 4 which is on the 1st floor overlooking the bay with a balcony, table & 2 chairs outside and fantastic views. The air conditioning worked fine and was quiet as well as efficient and the room was spotlessly clean. The decor was very old fashioned but the room was clean, comfortable, with everything in working order, and the shower was hot and the cubicle contained all the water so no flooding. The towels were a generous size and freshly laundered as you'd expect. We'd definitely stay here again for that price. The double glazing was very efficient so we were able to sleep undisturbed despite the traffic outside and enjoy the cool of the air conditioning. Our stay was for 1 night as we transitted through Nice and though I think it'd be a little cramped for a week it was fine and very practical for a couple of nights. We arrived at 4pm in the afternoon on a Friday and the hotel parking spaces were full but we were able to park on the road behing the hotel without any problem. I think the rooms overooking the bay at the front are the ones to go for because on the whole those seem to garner the more favourable reviews on websites. We splashed out the extra cash we'd saved on dinner at the rooftop Meridien restaurant and thought that was the right choice. I'd recommend this for a short break on a budget of for anyone passing through Nice on the way to their real holiday destination. Breakfast is an optional/chargeable extra which we opted for and enjoyed fresh croissants & rolls on their sunny terrace with orange joice, tea or coffee. Very good value in our experience but maybe the hotel has bucked it's ideas up after some of those less favourable reviews.

The only positive thing to be said about this place is it's location. The rooms were small, dirty and dingy. Air conditioner did not work. Sink drained very slowly. The carpet was old and filthy. It was a waste of our money to stay here.

“Worst hotel--EVER!!! I paid money to NOT stay here...”

No toilet paper, no bathroom light, the bathroom sink did not drain emitting a terrible smell into the dinky, dinky room.

We stayed one night and hurt my back on the cheap foam mattress.

The breakfast wasn't bad and the people weren't unfriendly, but the room was TERRIBLE. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

We had booked for 3 nights but after seeing room and hotel in general there was no way we could even stay 1 night. Hotel was shabby and outdated, room was small and dirty, bedding old and toilet very grubby with a bath like a big belfast sink.We paid for 1 night and ran.

“Great people watching and beach!”

Just returned, and loved the stay here. Our third floor room with a view got great sea breezes, and was across from the beach, at the crosswalk! The airport bus stops within easy walking distance; all else is walkable or near a bus. People were great. This is a wonderful people watching location; the terrace was also lovely. No one smoked in the rooms. Try it!
