Stayed 8 nights at Lepante in Sept 2007. Typical basic small French hotel. Certainly the antidote to Corporate alternatives .Check in/out efficient, no lift, third floor room minimally furnished, but good bathroom. Every thing spotlessly clean. Good air con (needed early evenings). Did not take breakfast as we found a great deal at a Brioche Doree a hundred metres away at half the price.Great hotel location, easy walk to bus station, for excellent value buses. eg.Only paid 1euro to return to the airport compared with 35 euros in rip off taxi on arrival . Only piad 1.3euros to Menton! Easy walk to train station as well as old town for eating. Felt safe walking even late at night. Only complaint for this hotel was no replenishment of tiny soap tablet - every day - tedious asking for more all the time!

The hotel is centrally located, walking distance to the beach, flower markets, everything you need to get to. The rooms are very bright, good lighting, the showers are small, but do the job. The street the hotel is located on can be noisy at night, but it's nice to have the ability to open your door to see out into the city. There isn't an elevator, so hopefully you get a low floor. I lucked out with only having to haul my bags up two flights. The person at the desk I've dealt with has been extremely helpful as far as directions and information. There is a cute garden area off the dining room, wireless works well from there. There is a grocery store next door, which is great, you can pick up fruit and snacks for the day. All in all, it's a great hotel.

This is a great hotel that offers fantastic value for money. The staff are both friendly and helpful (giving us some very good recommendations on restaurants).

The rooms were of a good size and were very clean. The location of the hotel is great - being only a short walk from the old town and sea front. WOuld highly recommend it!

My parents were staying at Hotel Lepante and I wanted to get some flowers for my mother's birthday. So, I called Hotel Lepante and got to talk to JEROME the manager. He wanted me to send him full creditcard information including the security code in the back of the card via e-mail and the price range of the flowers I want to order. Because I did not feel safe to give my full creditcard information to a total stranger, I sent an e-mail to hotel lepante , asking him to reply back if he was really the person I talked to. But HE NEVER REPLIED TO MY E_MAIL.
So, I went ahead and used an online company to deliver flowers.
After a week, I suddenly received an e-mail from Jerome saying he needed my credicard information for the flowers???, and threatened to charge my parents' card since he had their creditcard information. Eventhough I did not actually ask him to buy the flowers, I told him I was willing to pay if he could provide me with some sort of proof that he did, in fact, bought the flowers. But, he had NO RECEIPT!!! How strange!!!
I DO NOT recommed this hotel because of the unreliable and deceitful manager.
