This hotel is no luxury what so ever. Its a very simple basic hotel but its clean and has a good location in the middle of everything along the busy streets with bars and restaurants in downtown Nice.
The rooms are very small and basic, walls between the rooms a bit thin you may hear your neighbours.
The breakfast is actually rather good concerning normal French standard.
If you want a simple hotel that is clean and has a central location then this might be something for you.

When I unexpectedly needed to stay for a night in Nice I walked into the Hotel Harvey to be greeted by the receptionist, a Nicoise who exuded charm and spoke perfect English, a fairly rare combination in hotels in Nice. She offered a choice of rooms and I picked the more expensive one on the fifth floor; very large, bright and sparklingly clean.

Although I only had a few hours in the hotel as I had an early flight, I thought it represented extremely good value for money. My room overlooked the Avenue Suede which was very quiet. I imagine those over the Rue Massena, at the back of the hotel would be much noisier. I had no problem with noise from other rooms, although there were the very distant sounds of a female who seemed to enjoying herself in some way.

In this unusually cool June I had no need for aircon but I suspect that it might not be terribly effective as it is an old, built in system. In my experience modern units which have been added in recent years tend to work better and more quietly.

I picked the Harvey mainly because it was so close to the bus stop for the airport. When I appeared in reception at 5.15am the night porter pressed me to stop long enough for a coffee and obviously felt that he had failed in his duty of hospitality when I refused. I am not in the habit of wandering the streets at 5.30 and was surprised how many people were around, mainly those going to prepare breakfast and clean hotel rooms but also a fair smattering of couples returning from their night out.

a little apprehensive after reading some reviews about the hotel harvey but need not have worried. booked with cresta holidays for 4 nights with my husband son 21 and daughter 18. having been to nice before my husband and i wanted to show the family this lovely city. hotel harvey was right in the centre a great situation. tourist hotel is a good description, the staff friendly rooms basic but clean a good size[ and a good sized bathroom] with a fridge and safe. some reviews commented on the thin walls and hearing your neighbours but we heard nothing at all. continental breakfast was croissant, large crusty roll and a pastry with help yourself coffee tea hot chocolate and juice. we did expect a buffet style but there was sufficient and it was lovely and fresh. all in all a basic hotel but would go back for convenience and easy access to the bus stop prom old town and centre.

The hotel is in an excellent location in the centre of Nice. We were very pleased with our rooms there was 5 of us we had a twin and a triple room the twin was of a standard size the triple was large with 4 large windows looking over a busy corner of bars and restaurants which we really liked..
I was on holiday with 4 friends all female and we all felt safe walking back to the hotel in the evening.
You can catch the No. 98 bus from the airport and it drops you at the top of the road for the Harvey and costs 4 euro, as we were unsure of where the hotel was we took a taxi and because there was 5 of us we had to have two taxis costing 30 euro per taxi. We caught the bus on our return journey it takes about 20mins.
We caught a bus from the bus station to Monaco which only cost 2 euro return (unbelievable really) very pretty trip as it is mostly around the coast line and takes about 30 mins. The bus station is about a 15 min walk from the hotel. Everything is easily reached on foot from the Harvey.
5 euro for breakfast - orange juice tea coffee hot chocolate and a small basket of pastries croissants rolls - basic but worth it as a coffee is about 4 euro in a cafe. We had a really enjoyable 3 night stay and wanted to stay longer.
