My husband and I stayed here for 2 days at the end of July-August 2004. The hotel had a lot of charm. It was an old estate, so the house was big and old with much character. However, I was disappointed with the location. After spending some time in Nice, I would have preferred to stay farther east (the hotel was located far west, away from the heart of the main attractions). If you can afford or want to spend money on a taxi, I would suggest this hotel, but if you like to walk to places, you will have your work cut out for you staying here. Also, this section of town was a bit run down, not what I was expecting for Nice and the French Riviera. Watch out for the dog poo on the streets, its everywhere!

My teen-aged daughter and I spent two nights at this hotel at the beginning of a trip around the south of France in June. Breakfast in the garden was a lovely way to start our days, and we were able to walk down to the Promenade des Anglais and into the old town without wearing ourselves out. The entrance was a little tricky to find (there is a sign for "hotel parking" which leads you down a lane - the hotel is hidden from view from the street), but the result was that we were somewhat protected from traffic noise (although the seagulls don't seem to have much regard for bedtime). With access to the internet (10 euros for the duration of our stay), we were able to communicate via email with family at home without worrying about phone cards and time changes. A recommendation for delicious dinner at a local restaurant put a perfect cap on our two days in Nice.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Hotel Armenonville in October for 4 days. This was the last leg of a mini European trip across Spain, Italy and France and was one of the more enjoyable stays. Firstly, the hotel is situated about a 4 min. walk from Le Promenade des Anglais, quite near the Hotel Negresco. The hotel was more like a grand country guesthouse, it may once have been a summer house for French royalty, that is the feeling one gets from the character of the building. It was very well presented and the en-suite bathroom was very modern and clean. The room was very cosy and felt quite private. We really enjoyed this place and recommend it for its very reasonable price, friendly staff, convenient location and most of all its character and ambience, which is a little bit of grand yesteryear with all the trappings of today.

Charming family run hotel with a quiet garden to sit and relax. I got a such a low rate from Skoosh that I wasn't expecting much but it turned out to be lovely.
