This was my second stay at the Regence, and it was as good as I had remembered. It's nothing swish, but this hotel is fantastic value for money - basic rooms but with everything you need - a comfy bed, clean bedding and towels, air con, tv, a safety box (no charge) and a really lovely clean modern bathroom. No bath in our room, but a nice glass doored shower unit. If you're going in the summer Nice gets very hot and air con is a must. We paid 80Euros per night room only, so this hotel is a true gem for the money. One block from the Promenade d' Anglaise and 10 mins from the old town. A bit of a hike (20 mins max though) to the train station, but it is located at the far side of the town centre so a pleasant walk passed the shops. Actually the area the station is in is a bit of a dump, so much better to walk there than stay there!
I've been there twice now ( I'm 26) and my parents have been twice too (they're 60). Value for money is 100%. Think of a travel lodge(but smaller) type room, but add the fabulous city on your doorstep. Save a fortune on accomodation and stay here - believe me you'll pay more for less elsewhere!

Stayed at the Regence on 2 occasions this summer. 1st stay was for 4 nites. Room was larger than what you would get in Paris for half the price.Bed was comfortable and clean. Very efficent service staff. Desk Staff was helpful with directions and reccomendations. About a 15-20 minute walk from the train station. h.5 minute walk to the beacVery centerally located. Right on the Ped Promanade.Rooms on the alley are anything but quiet even though the staff will tell you different. 2nd stay was in a room off the alley and was quiet. Would stay again. Make sure to try the Tavern Mussena for dinner. Very good food at a fair price.Sorry no pics.

“Great Little Hotel”

Hotel Regence

We enjoyed our stay in Nice and the Hotel Regence was a very good place to stay. We were here in the first week of July and we had a wonderful time.

We had 5 people and we booked 2 rooms for our stay, a double and a room with 2 doubles. The rooms are on the small side but they were very clean and the bathrooms were a good size.

The Hotel is on a very nice pedestrian street that has lots of entertainment and restaurants. At night it was just alive and wonderful to experience. Other reviews have indicated that this street can be noisy. Our rooms faced the rear of the hotel and we did not have any problems with noise.

It is a 2 minute walk to the prominade. We have 3 children ages 16, 14 and 8 and they all had a great time.

We walked to the hotel from the train station and it took about 10-15 minutes. We made the walk in the mid afternoon and the sidewalks were very busy and construction made the congestion a bit worse but without the construction, it would have been a breeze. Taking a cab would not get you much closer to the hotel because of its location on a pedestrian street.

All in all I would not hesitate staying here again and I truly look forward to visiting Nice again.

We stayed at this hotel for three nights.
The rooms are clean nothing special. We had a room with view on street but my friends have view on the roof where were located air condition.
The hotel is very well located.. For those how are going there by car by aware that the hotel is in an unreachable zone only walk.. The hotel didn’t have its own parking. There is a sister hotel witch own a little parking are but its clients have priority.
We parked our car on a private parking with 23 Euro/ 24 hours and in the last night we were lucky and find a place in the sister hotel parking witch cost only 10 Euros.
Over all god value of money for Nice.

For anyone who is interested in staying at this hotel I would only recommend it if you are on a tight budget or wanted a place close to the beach.

There were several problems with my stay at this hotel.

The first is that it is on a very busy pedestrian street and the street noise will keep you up at night so if you do decide to stay here ask for a room that is not facing the main street.

Secondly, the room I stayed in smelled of cigarettes quite badly and I have a relatively good tolerance for that kind of thing. Upon asking the front desk if I could switch rooms, they told me that all the rooms were smoking so I was out of luck for that option.

Finally, the bed that we had was quite poor in quality. I could not speak for all of the rooms but ours was basically a foam bed with a plastic covering.

My recommendation is spend a few more dollars if any of those things I've mentioned above bother you.
