This hotel, in a good location, has been attracttively renovated recently and the rooms on the front are large. Unfortunately, the plumbing is dreadful. All the bigger rooms have baths with showers over them but no shower-screens or curtains. The smaller rooms at the back have tiny showers. I had to move my room three times: no shower in one, a blocked waste in another, no hot water in a third. When I asked the management if other people complained about the plumbing, the answer was 'yes, we do have problems with the water.' The lighting in the bathrooms is also woeful. This is all a pity. I would never stay here again and would not recommend it to anyone.

We stayed at the Hotel Aria in Nice for 4 nights. We booked the holiday the night before we stayed. We originally wanted to stay in Monaco, but was alittle out of our budget. We are so glad we stayed here, as it was only a 5min walk to the promenade and beach and all the shops and boutiques. The train station was minutes away and we took a day out of our stay to visit Monaco. It was easy to get a train ticket as most people spoke english. The journey to Monaco only took 20mins and was worth the 8euros for 2 of us to get a return ticket.

When we went to Monaco, we found the price of the food very reasonable, we were expecting lunch to be pretty steep, but was pleasantly surprised. We visited the start/finish line of the F1 Grand Prix and the famous Casino. When we arrived in Monaco, we were happy to see that there was a Karting Championship in full flow. Very exciting. Would recommend a visit to Monaco on your stay!

The airport is only 10mins by taxi. It cost us 35euros to get to our hotel. This is the most you will pay as we arrived at 9pm and they charge alittle more than if you arrived in the morning or afternoon.

The beach is a pebble beach, but the views along the promenade are outstanding. There are lots of restaurants to choose from, but would recommend breakfast at the Cafe Promenade next to Hotel Mercure. Never had breakfast at the hotel as previous reviews did not recommend it.

The rooms at the Hotel Aria are basic, but it was only somewhere to sleep as we were out and about most of the time. The lift in the hotel is very old fashioned and agree with previous reviews that you are lucky to get 2 people and a suitcase in it....but we managed it....just!!

We would definately go back and for the price of this hotel, would definately stay there again.

Booked well in advance to stay for one night on the 8th Sep 2007, but when we arrived were told they were overbooked and we had been re-accomodated in the Le Riviera Hotel which turned out to be a terrible hotel.

The Aria hotel is 5 minutes from the main train station and 10 minutes from the waterfront. the location is excellent for both exploring Nice and taking day trips on the train (Eze, Monaco). The room was larger then average and there is a cafe nearby should you choose not to have breakfast there. Staff were helpful and the room was clean and comfy.
