We stayed here for two nights, we were skeptical of the price as well as the reviews, there were only a few and they were a hit or miss.

Our journey first began by our train arriving earlier then the checkin tme so we attempted an early check-in as our hotel in Venice had no issues with this. The lady working at the reception told us the check-in was not for another 3 hours and we would have to return and asked if we wanted to leave our luggage there. The hotel did not appear busy by any means, we chose to leave with our luggage as they charge to leave your luggage there.

We arrived at 2pm to check-in and were asked to pay immediately. We were then told that they were not sure if our room was ready and they had to go verify which they did. We entered our room which was not esthetically pleasing but was large. It resembled a hostel more than a hotel.

If you are going to stay at this hotel, here are a few tips:
- Bring flip flops as you do not want to go barefoot in the shower
- Bring your own toilet paper, the one they had was like sand paper.
- Bring your own hair drier as the hose at the one at the hotel was destroyed.
- Bring earplugs, why? It is extremely noisy from surrounding guests as well as street traffic.

Also, you will be given a remote for the TV and air conditioner when you check in, You are asked to leave the key with the reception each & every time you leave. They will then shut off your air conditioning in the room and every time you get the key, they never turned it back on, we always had to call to ask.

Overall, am not a picky individual when it comes to accomodations but expect a level of service from the hotel which we did not feel was adequate for our needs at this hotel. We would never recommend this estasblishment to anyone we knew travelling to Nice. Spend the extra $20-$30 euros and get a decent hotel.

The hotel was easy enough to find by foot from the train station.
The location was great as we (boyfriend and I) felt we saw parts of Nice we wouldn't have seen if it wasn't for the 15minute walk down to the sea front.
We were too early for check-in but were able to leave our bags in the hotel while we went out for the rest of the morning.
Once back at the hotel we were put into a twin room, but then the manager quickly rectified the problem once another guest had turned up requesting it, so we were then moved to a double room which had plenty of space and was very clean. The view from the window could have been better, but it was to be expected being at the back of the hotel in the town centre.
The staff at the hotel spoke little english but the manager had enough to tell us the essentials, which were that the doors closed at 12am, if you wanted to stay out later you need to request a key.
Check-out was a little strange, as we had to catch an early flight we were in reception at 7am and there was nobody around, so we rang a bell and eventually a young man came to open the door for us, he did not check anything with us, we just returned the key and off we went, which we both were a little confused about. is this normal?

On the whole the Hotel was clean and the location good for the train station. It is about 20min walk from the 'Promenade de Anglais though this is straight down a main street and a pleasant enough walk (or will be when the road works finish). I was however required to pay in full on arrival, and informed I would have to change rooms for the second night of my stay. the temporary room had no toilet or washing fascillities and a 'Camp Bed' for sleeping on. It did state when I booked, and on the door of the hotel, that all staff spoke English. apart from the manager this was not the case.

I stayed in this hotel for two nights with 4 friends of mine. Nice was our first step of a 15 days-long journey from Nice to Barcelona. I have to say that we could not start our Mediterranean trip with a better hotel . Cheap, clean, close to the train station and to the town centre, I could not expect more.
The staff was very kind, and ready to give us all information. They do not limit your night life, there is always somebody in the reception, even during the night, and above all never in a bad mood. The rooms are very clean, and not too small. In particular the bathroom is clean and well equipped. The breakfast is good even if not special, classic continental breakfast, I must say.
If I had the opportunity to visit Nice again I would book a room at Le Parisien again.
