Stayed here for my honeymoon based on good reviews. BUT it was terrible. The bathroom was very small and MOULDY!

Making the bed meant pulling the covers up. There were crumbs still on the bed!

Staff did speak some english and the breakfast was simple (croissant, bread, jam, orange juice and coffee) but tasty.

Would not stay here again.

On checking in, we were asked to pay a "City Tax", we were not informed by Travel Agent that all Hotels in Nice ask their guests on check in for this Tax. However, it was low.
The room was large and backed on to not a very pretty view, but as we were not there to look out of a window it did'nt matter. The room was clean and 2 comfortable beds and a table with chairs and a good fridge. Bathroom very basic but shower head excellent and plenty of hot water.
We had understood that there was to have been a hair dryer and a kettle in room, there was'nt. However the Hotel staff brought us cups saucers, sugar and pots of hot water whenever we required them, always with a smile.
The staff were always pleasent, and all but one spoke English.......but we were in France after all, so why should he !!!
Very near Train station and good bus service and soon a tram service, a pleasant 20 min walk to beach, plenty of local food shops, cafe's, near by.
All in all we thought the Hotel good if perhaps a little basic.

We had a room for three in this hotel and were really quite happy with it for what we paid. The room was clean and the bathroom was too. The beds were clean and comfortable. Not luxurious but amply furnished. We were facing the road but the double glazing kept out the traffic noise surprisingly well. The air conditioning was adequate but is was turned offf when you leave the hotel. This only happened once during our stay but we requested it be kept on and it was. Location of the hotel was great in that we were using it for trips to Menton, Monaco, St Paul de Vence, Eze etc and it was virtually a few minutes from the railway station. Would certainly use this as a base again. I thought it good value for money.

We stayed here for two nights, we were skeptical of the price as well as the reviews, there were only a few and they were a hit or miss.

Our journey first began by our train arriving earlier then the checkin tme so we attempted an early check-in as our hotel in Venice had no issues with this. The lady working at the reception told us the check-in was not for another 3 hours and we would have to return and asked if we wanted to leave our luggage there. The hotel did not appear busy by any means, we chose to leave with our luggage as they charge to leave your luggage there.

We arrived at 2pm to check-in and were asked to pay immediately. We were then told that they were not sure if our room was ready and they had to go verify which they did. We entered our room which was not esthetically pleasing but was large. It resembled a hostel more than a hotel.

If you are going to stay at this hotel, here are a few tips:
- Bring flip flops as you do not want to go barefoot in the shower
- Bring your own toilet paper, the one they had was like sand paper.
- Bring your own hair drier as the hose at the one at the hotel was destroyed.
- Bring earplugs, why? It is extremely noisy from surrounding guests as well as street traffic.

Also, you will be given a remote for the TV and air conditioner when you check in, You are asked to leave the key with the reception each & every time you leave. They will then shut off your air conditioning in the room and every time you get the key, they never turned it back on, we always had to call to ask.

Overall, am not a picky individual when it comes to accomodations but expect a level of service from the hotel which we did not feel was adequate for our needs at this hotel. We would never recommend this estasblishment to anyone we knew travelling to Nice. Spend the extra $20-$30 euros and get a decent hotel.
