On the whole the Hotel was clean and the location good for the train station. It is about 20min walk from the 'Promenade de Anglais though this is straight down a main street and a pleasant enough walk (or will be when the road works finish). I was however required to pay in full on arrival, and informed I would have to change rooms for the second night of my stay. the temporary room had no toilet or washing fascillities and a 'Camp Bed' for sleeping on. It did state when I booked, and on the door of the hotel, that all staff spoke English. apart from the manager this was not the case.

I stayed in this hotel for two nights with 4 friends of mine. Nice was our first step of a 15 days-long journey from Nice to Barcelona. I have to say that we could not start our Mediterranean trip with a better hotel . Cheap, clean, close to the train station and to the town centre, I could not expect more.
The staff was very kind, and ready to give us all information. They do not limit your night life, there is always somebody in the reception, even during the night, and above all never in a bad mood. The rooms are very clean, and not too small. In particular the bathroom is clean and well equipped. The breakfast is good even if not special, classic continental breakfast, I must say.
If I had the opportunity to visit Nice again I would book a room at Le Parisien again.

The place was just perfect! Clean rooms with TV and AC, friendly environment and very helpful people. The breakfast was by far the best we had in both Paris or anywhere in South France. The place is situated very close to the central train station (SNCF) and conveniently close to the shops as well as the beach. All this with an incredible price. I strongly recommend it!!!!!!! :):):):):):):):):)

The best part about this place is the family who runs it. The second is that it’s clean, and rooms on the inside (away from the street) can be really quiet and dark. (They have shutters and solid curtains). I rented a single room and the price, for Nice, was great. The mattress was a bit on the flimsy side (it’s on top of a frame and moves around a bit) but it was supportive, as was the pillow. Each day, my bed was made, fresh towels were given and bathroom was cleaned. Air conditioning worked fine.

The neighborhood, at first glance, is a bit seedy—it’s *behind* the train station. Which is actually more quiet and residential than the area in front of the train station . . . and I preferred it. (I’d rather get a place in the main harbor than in front of the train station.) But the real drawback—for me, a single woman—was walking underground through the tunnel to get behind the train station. During the day, it’s fine and populated, but after 10 it can be super sketchy. However, it can be avoided. I'm pretty sure you can walk a little farther on and not have to go beneath the tunnel.

All in all, this location is preferred to the places in front of the train station. And while I was bummed on arrival to find out that it wasn’t in the main harbor area of Nice, I actually found it much more convenient. I ended up riding trains two days in a row so being right near the main station was perfect.

Breakfast is given (a croissant and baguette) at an add'l cost of 5.50 euro. There's free internet in the lobby and some of the rooms. And the family are dolls. They're so sweet and warm and helpful.
