Hotel Berlioz Nice France, Nice location, Nice Price, but just too Noisy.

The people who run the hotel are extremely helpful, ever so friendly and go above and beyond to make sure you have a great stay in their hotel.

The hotel is small, but nicely decorated (not my taste but still good) and is kept to a very clean standard.

The only problem with this hotel is the noise! Maybe it was just our room, but we could hear everything that was going on in the adjacent room and did have a bit of trouble with various noises throughout the night. If you're a heavy sleeper or can sleep using earplugs then you'll be fine, if not maybe best to avoid this one.

The rooms were very clean. The owner, Jean Pierre was very helpful. I wouldn’t say it is “centrally” located as it is about 10 minutes from the Sea and 20 or so to Old Town. It is one block from the train station (Cannes, Monaco, etc). It was away from the noise of the tourist areas so we were pleased. Parking very close too. Typical European breakfast and good. Smaller hotel yet worth the $$$. Limited TV channels (4?). Clean bathrooms and our two rooms had showers. AC. Free wireless internet in room.

Hotel Berlioz lived up to expectations from the majority of Tripadvisor reviews. Room was small, slightly noisy from the road in front of the hotel (early morning dustbin lorry!) but was very clean, recently redecorated, bathroom refurbished, air conditioning provided. It was also conveniently centrally located, provided a reasonable breakfast and a helpful, pleasant proprietor. So, all in all, good value.

I booked a one night stay at this hotel.
I got food poisoning and was unable to stay in Nice that night. I contacted the hotel owner that afternoon around check in time.
He said the hotel is very busy and that I would be charged. Before I could speak he hung up on me.
This is the same man that people have reviewed as being the new pleasant english speaking Vietnamese man.
I found him rude and mean on the phone. And I'm pretty sure he filled my room immediately since I did give him plenty of time to do that. So he was paid twice. I was in an impossible situation with the illness and let him know immediately out of respect and this is what I got in return.
