Checked various sites for reviews/descriptions of this hotel, most said all rooms were sound-proofed and had balconies, we had 2 different rooms which had neither! The owner and his wife were very friendly and the hotel was very clean and tidy. Our first room was on the ground floor and was fairly large but no balcony & looked onto back of buildings so when we were offered a bigger, nicer room with balcony we agreed. It too looked onto back of buildings,no balcony & actually smaller - did something get lost in translation?! (I think be wary of rooms with even numbers as they all seemed to be at the back). We couldn't be bothered to tackle him about it and enjoyed our stay despite having a bathroom door that wouldn't shut properly or lock and a shower head that kept dropping off its stand mid-shower. The only way the rooms were sound-proofed was by having the aircon on which reduced the amount of noise you could hear from the rest of the hotel. It wasn't bad for the money but should be advertised as near train station rather than central as it was quite a walk to the seafront or shopping area, wouldn't be good for elderly or infirm.
