Good to see that this hotel is back to something like what it was in the eighties; when the four lads were running it. It does not have the up market restaurant it had then and you don't see Ferrari's parked outside now, but we had a good meal on the terrace, cooked by the owner. Breakfast - continental style - on the terrace is a great way to start your day.
The rooms - small by chain hotel standards - are clean and simply decorated and Air Con has replaced those old rattling ceiling fans. The first floor rooms have bigger balconies than the second floor, (no lift). I would say rooms 9 - 14 are the best choice; if you can get them.
St Jean Cap Ferrat is still my favourite spot on the Cote d'Azur. Lots of little restaurants around the port area that are good value for the area. The three beeches on the Cap are even better; as are the walks around The Cap and the promenade walk to Beaulieu sur Mer. Taxi - always a luxury item in the south of France - 68 Euro from Nice airport; 55 going back.
For the old clientèle, yes, the Palm tree in the middle of the swimming pool, is still alive and well. Vic and Virginia have put the life back into the Belle Aurore.
