Just returned from Belle Aurore and enjoyed the three nights there thoroughly. The new proprietors, Vic and his wife, are very friendly and attentive. We had a family room which was newly renovated to a good standard. The pool and surroundings are very nice with lots of comfortable sun loungers, umbrellas and tables. We only ate once at lunch time and the meal was good and reasonably priced.

The hotel is a short walk (5 mins) from the village and all its shops and restaurants.

We will return to this friendly, reasonably priced, well situated hotel.

Yep, this hotel used to be good once, when it was still run by different owners. We came here in 2003 and were shocked. The room was filthy, the cupboards full of mold, disgusting indeed. The only good thing was the view we have had from our balcony. It got even worse after I asked for a cover for the sun-chair on the balcony. They gave me a sort of leather cover, after 2 half days of relaxing nicely on the balcony, getting roasted, I woke up in the morning with legs covered with itchy spots. As it got rather worse then better the next day, with my back covered with blisters, I went to see a doctor who told me, that whatever I have been lying on has given me fungus. It took 14 days of medication to get the stuff out of my lungs and cost me almost 5 days of my holiday, during which I had to take stuff to get rid of the obvious signs of the infection on my legs. You can imagine one doesn't not want to wear light summer clothes, revealing the stuff!! So, that's my report on that horrible place! NEVER EVER AGAIN!!!

Never again- only that choice was limited as we arrived with no accomodation booked I would have run a mile- €150 for a very mediocre room- the view was nice as was the pool but the whole place needs to be done up.. Stay away if possible- I got the "money-grabber" vibe- €5 for a small bottle of water and a I spotted a sign- "€15 to non-residents to use pool"..

We had stayed here many years ago & under old management & loved it. Returned & boy, things had changed! Spent one night in their 'deluxe room' & couldn't sleep it was so hot, the mattress was so lumpy & the room & especially the bathroom smelled so bad. We left immediately & they would not refund us our next two nights pre-paid, but it was worth it just to get the h*lll out of there. Moved to the Voile d' Or, which was absolutely fabulous, but a huge jump in $$ - oh well, we were happy!

“3 stars - 3 too many”

This must be the most overrated hotel in France. The elcectric sockets came off the wall, the air conditioning did not work, the decor would have been out of date in 1950, it was dirty and there was no water in the morning as the pool was being filled. Any hotel in the area would be better. How can the French star system give such a dump any stars at all?
