“Lovely hotel!”

Stayed here last week for 4 nights with 2 other girls, We wanted to have a nice base in St Maxime and it was great. The hotel feels more like a family run hotel than a chain. The room was fine if a little small for us 3 but really no problem and it was very clean. The hotel pool and gardens are really nice and well maintained and we loved the free cakes served all day! Breakfast was nice too although no a massive selection (10 euros each.)
The major upside for us was that is was a 5 min walk from the town, which is full of very nice restaurants and shops. It also has a very nice buzzy atmostphere. There is also a nice beach back towards st raphael we walked there and it took about 30mins although you could get a cab. The beach had nice clean waters and sand and again lovely restaurants. The great thing with st maxime is the boat that takes you to st tropez, it leaves every 15mins til 1am and is 12 euros return, takes about 15 mins. It was perfect for us to pop over for dinner or to go and visit the beaches, Nikki beach was fab for us girls!
I would love to go here again and it was great for us and also would be lovely for a romantic holiday too. We were very impressed with the hotel as it is 3 star but very very nice for that rating!

We're just back from our yearly trip to Ste Maxime, and once again Hotel Montfleuri met our expectations. We've being going to the Montfleuri for many years, and have always been very satisfied with the welcome, the facilities, the food and its perfect position, facing St Tropez and just a 5 minute walk from the centre of Ste Maxime.

The rooms are perfectly adequate in size and spotless. Top marques also for the service and the friendly welcome.

“Fabulous!”

Best Western Hotel Montfleuri

5 of 5 stars
Norwich, UK
Sep 11, 2007

We arrived at the Monfleuri on a scorching day, having travelled all morning and stayed in Grenoble the night before (not in a good hotel, either.) Arriving at this hotel was like a breath of fresh air! We parked easily outside, and the receptionist was gracious, spoke perfect English, and found us a room without any problem, which they hurried to get ready for us.
The room was spotless, had a beautiful view over the pool, and the Med, with a big terrace with private sunloungers. Icy air conditioning was also very welcome.
The hotel location was excellent, and we strolled to the harbour and got a boat (Bateaux Vertes) over to St Tropez for lunch. Arriving by sea took around 15 mins and gave a perfect view of the mega yachts!
Returning to the Montfleuri we used the pool and very comfy loungers and then dined excellently in Ste Maxime itself.
Breakfast was delicious and if we hadn't been travelling onwards, we would have stayed longer.

“A little disappointing.....”

Best Western Hotel Montfleuri

3 of 5 stars
Brisbane, Australia
Jul 30, 2007

Stayed here in May 2002 having walked in ‘on spec’ early one evening and again in September 2004. The public areas are well appointed but the room was a little disappointing on both occasions. They are fairly small, feel tired and are in need of renovation. The location though is very good – in a quiet street only a short walk from the town centre with its endless choice of restaurants and close to the harbour. The hotel has a small car park, which was usually full, though I always found a space next to the hotel on the street. The choice of fruits, cereals and breads at breakfast was excellent. The secluded garden area is well shaded; the pool area a little cramped. On my 1st visit the receptionist went out of her way to help me to sort out problems with my TGV rail connection to Paris so I was very impressed. My feelings toward this hotel are however a little prejudiced. Despite written confirmation of my booking for my 2nd visit I found myself in dispute with the owner who was adamant I could not stay for what should have been my 3rd and last night. After a heated argument he resolved it by arranging for me to stay at another hotel nearby at no additional cost to me despite its higher rating. Obviously I was not impressed at having to move and in fairness I hardly conducted myself with any great diplomacy either! Mistakes sometimes happen but it was interesting to note the next guest took priority over an existing one! However, if the hotel fixes the rather jaded rooms I would still recommend this to others who want a quiet and convenient location, close to all Ste Maxime’s amenities.

“DONT LET STARS DECEIVE YOU!”

Best Western Hotel Montfleuri

Apr 25, 2007
2/2 found this review helpful

OK, so it only has three stars and some people have written in the negative about this great place. Well, that's NOT the case. Yes, it is an old property and may not have the frills of nearby hotels (on the wrong side of town). The location is without doubt the best, a short walk passing some splendid villas or an alternate route by the sea, either way - only 5 minutes to the ancient quarter and the hub of the town. Cleanliness, without doubt the most important matter, is without fault. Spotless. Staff are again without fault and go above and beyond the call of duty.
Some rooms overlook the pool and sea. Others back on to a quiet street. We stayed in the latter and got a super nights sleep.
The buffet breakfeast is plentyfull and yes, may lack a huge variety, but is great value for €10.00pp.
It may be old, but it's full of warmth and without doubt Sainte Maxime's finest.
Hotels in the area are expensive so don't beat yourself up if first impressions deceive you. Go with the flow.
