OK, so it only has three stars and some people have written in the negative about this great place. Well, that's NOT the case. Yes, it is an old property and may not have the frills of nearby hotels (on the wrong side of town). The location is without doubt the best, a short walk passing some splendid villas or an alternate route by the sea, either way - only 5 minutes to the ancient quarter and the hub of the town. Cleanliness, without doubt the most important matter, is without fault. Spotless. Staff are again without fault and go above and beyond the call of duty.
Some rooms overlook the pool and sea. Others back on to a quiet street. We stayed in the latter and got a super nights sleep.
The buffet breakfeast is plentyfull and yes, may lack a huge variety, but is great value for €10.00pp.
It may be old, but it's full of warmth and without doubt Sainte Maxime's finest.
Hotels in the area are expensive so don't beat yourself up if first impressions deceive you. Go with the flow.
