Hotel Le Mouillage in Ste Tropez turned out to be a very pleasant surprise. I researched hotels in the area in our price range and came across this property--but it wasn’t even listed in Trip Advisor. However, based upon the webpage, the price and location, I decided to take a chance…luckily it turned out even better than expected. Once I booked a standard room I contacted Trip advisor and asked them to list the property. They agreed and it obviously now is listed as one of the hotels in Ste Tropez.
We arrived in Hotel Le Mouillage after leaving a B & B in Provence where we had stayed four nights. We had a car and I was pleased that Le Mouillage offered free parking for its guests. The property is located on the main street leading into Ste Tropez and is very easy to walk to the downtown area. It is directly across the street from the waterfront and some of the upstairs rooms probably offer a view of the water.
Our room (The Bali) was located halfway from the street and was amazingly quiet for the location. There was a small private covered patio right outside the door with a small table and two chairs. Inside was a pleasant and very clean room with many amenities, a small safe, a flat screen tv, comfortable beds, a mini bar/fridge and a sitting chair. The bathroom, although small, had a nice walk-in shower (great water pressure) and a towel heater. The rooms are air-conditioned and very comfortable overall. Wifi is available for free but we were unable to connect in our room…it was necessary to go to the lobby for this service.
The property also has a lovely pool area although it was too cool for us to use. There are nice lounge chairs around the pool and I’m sure that it would be nice area to sit and visit if the weather were warm.
Breakfast is not included in the price although it is available. I believe that you can have it delivered to your room although we didn’t do that. We did purchase it on one of our two nights stay although for 15 euros each it wasn’t really worth it. Much more economical to go into town and buy a café and croissant at one of the local cafes.
Our only disappointment with the room was the location of the towel rack in the bathroom. It was “head-high” just to the left inside the doorway and my husband bent over to throw something in the trash can right underneath and caught his head on the upswing. Poor placement of the rack that could be easily moved.
Overall I was very happy with our stay here. The location and quality for the price was very good. While it was probably a 10-minute walk to the main harbor area, it was easy and pleasant. Being able to park was also a benefit. I would recommend this hotel to others and not hesitate to stay here again myself.
