There hasn't been a recent review of this hotel and since the last one new owners have taken over, called it 3* de luxe and, we feel, uplifted the prices so they are not in line with what is offered. It is certainly set in delightful gardens, with lovely views. Our "room" was in what appeared to be the newer part and faced a small road with some traffic noise. Whilst well presented with a shared patio, it was very dark and the lighting was inadequate and small irritations such as nowhere to put ones make up either in the room (indeed no mirror!) or bathroom made it frustrating. The food was expensive but good although in the main did not reach the gastronomique standards indicated that the new owners are hoping the hotel will be known for. Indeed our excellent meal at the well known Colombe d'Or in St. Paul de Vence was less expensive. Buffet breakfast was expensive (18 euros) and disappointing - not even freshly squeezed orange juice.. This was the sixth hotel we had stayed at during our 8 week travels in France so we had plenty of comparisons to refer to.
