Great hotel, nicely located such that you can walk to the main sights. One of the receptionists recommended a place for dinner that was the highlight of our stay, which we are grateful for.

Nice room, the only thing lacking perhaps was a rug on the floor (the tiles were a bit cold).
Was lovely to sit on the balcony one afternoon enjoying a beer and watching the people out in the square in front.

I wouldn't advise getting the breakfast which is ok but overpriced for what you get.

We spent a few days in Hotel Saint Louis with my wife. The experience was very nice. The reception staff is warm and easy to talk with : they gave us good tips about the city and the places to go (restaurants, visits...). Basically, it is the kind of hotel you feel like at home. I think they have done some works, but anyway it looks new and the bed is good : I wish I could have one like this at home!

We selected this hotel because of its excellent location - very close to Canebiere, and a short walk to the Vieux Port. In most respects it is a perfectly adequate 2-star hotel - once you enter it. But to enter it, you must drag your luggage up 21 steps, a fact not mentioned in any reviews I checked or in the hotel description. The hotel, and the elevator, begin on what Europeans call the first floor, i.e., one flight up. When we checked in in the afternoon, only the desk clerk was on duty, and no one was available to help with luggage. The same was true when we checked out in the morning. Therefore I would recommend this hotel only to the young and able-bodied, or those traveling light.
