Positives are decent food and central location, but there are too many negatives to mention. The Clubhouse is really just a bar with soom rooms above. The view from the (black) room was ok but only above 3 large chalets outside the window. The bar has been ruined by a policy to give free Wi-fi to members (fees are E150) and so 8 out of 10 people in the bar are using their laptop to surf the web or run their businesses. Members also get free coffee and apres-ski so lots of low budget ski-bums seem to have caught on to membership of the clubhouse too. Most of the bar visitors are living in chamonix, friends of the hotel staff. Also, the dining room and bar are one and the same, meaning you sit down for romantic dinners with people on their laptops all around you. We ate there because we had paid upfront for full board. The hotel side of the clubhouse is just as bad. The staff are at best enthusiastic amateurs. We were not given any advice about the area at all. There is no phone in the room, the mini bar was not replenished once and rubbish in our room was left to pile up until the end of our stay. We had a minor dispute with the manager who tried to charge us for a fictitious ski lesson...it just got worse. The barman is a good guy, as are one or two of the other staff but there's no warmth to guests in general. We will never go back. We are annoyed with ourselves for falling for the marketing on the website and in Vogue magazine.
Stopped at the Club House for our Honey moon, very dissapointing. They do a great job with their marketing, but the hotel does not live up to the hype !
the hotel is positioned amongst some 70's apartments blocks. The decor is good and funky in the bar. There is only one area to eat drink and relax which is usually full of the staff's friends rather than guests.
The food is very average, and the BBQ was terrible.
All in all poor value for money and the guys that work there spend more time with one another than the guests.
Best bet is the Albert Premier as it was fantastic in comparisons
