For a good value and a great location, the Citadines can not be beat. We've just returned from 4 nights there with our 4 children (all under 7 years). We paid 107 Euro for a 1 bedroom apartment-- which is an excellent rate, although I found out later that we could have gotten the same apartment for just 85 Euro had we booked through the tourist office-- so try that first!
The location was perfection; good (child-friendly) bouchons were literally at our doorstep, shops were around every corner and Place de la Bellcour, one of Lyon's largest and most vibrant squares was just a few blocks away. Plus, the outdoor market, which is a fantastic sight, even if you don't buy anything, is also just around the corner. We all easily walked to the Old Town (just over the river), too.
The property itself is basic and clean. If you are planning on eating anything there, wash the dishes and cutlery when you get in your apartment (ours had been previously used and not washed). Don't pay for the breakfast-- it's 8 Euro per person and very modest. There are boulangeries close by with better breads at 1/4 the cost.
Overall, the Citadines is an excellent place if you are fairly self-sufficient. If you are looking for all the bells and whistles of a luxury hotel, look elsewhere, but you will pay.
