Location for tourist attractions not good. Room poor. Arrived at hotel 2.00pm: told room would not be available until 5pm because we had only booked a room through airmiles and we were getting the cheapest! Yet the hotel was near enough empty judging by the lack of people seen during our stay. Hotel did agree to give a room immediately provided we paid for an upgrade ( which we did but in all fairness hotel did not charge when we checked out) Only one light worked in the upgraded room: when reception informed was handed a box of lightbulbs and told to sort it ourselves because receptionist (who seemed like and acted like throughout the stay a female basil fawlty) was on her own! When all lights sorted still very poorly lit room.On our last morning the hot water in the room was orange in colour! We are not normally complainants but on this occasion we were pushed too far.
We will not return!

The hotel is located near a tram line which is great for getting away from the dull place in which it is situated. My room was poorly illuminated and small. Staff were helpful, but the place is cheerless - avoid...

We stayed at the best western for three nights. We were happy with our decision. It is close to everything you need, shopping, old town, restaurants.....we were only unhappy with two minor things. One was the price of using the internet, even though I had my own computer, and two, figuring out where our room was. The staff was nice and helpful, even calling us a taxi. Book online if you can, the price was 15 euros cheaper!!BUT a definite plus was a place called Les Halles de Lyon....its down the street from the hotel away from the river. Its like a heaven of good food, all individual little shops, open but all in a building, hard to describe but so worth going to. They even have some little restaurants. Happy with our stay, would stay again.

BEST WESTERN CREQUI HOTEL PART DIEU LYON

I've had some good success utilizing Best Western hotels in France in previous years.

The Best Western mentioned here is in the middle of what is called the "new" section of Lyon. Lots of traffic. Also, parking is in a public parking garage within 10 minutes of the hotel. By 10 minutes, I'm allowing time to go underground, park and get back to the hotel and I'm being generous.

It's difficult to find a place to park near the hotel to unload luggage.

The room was above average in European size; however, it was stuffy with a dampness smell.

In order to get to the room there was a code that was required to input into a machine inside the elevator. Quite a different approach to security.

Originally, we had planned to stay 2 nights in Lyon; however, we decided one was sufficient.

A small hotel right in the centre of Lyon, close to all the restaurants and shops.

Friendly staff helped make for a pleasant stay.

A perfectly adequate and confortable hotel.

Didn't use the restaurant, so can't give any view on that.
