If you are traveling through heidelberg and need a great place to stay, please consider the Heidelberg Marriott. I had the most pleasant experience at this hotel. The customer service was excellent! The Marriott is very close to downtown heidelberg and all the shops. Within two miles is a beautiful castle to visit with a lot of history. Restaurants are close by as well as the euro rail.

“Good, but not great”

Nice hotel but a bit run down. Add to the too much dust in the small rooms and less than fresh bathrooms and you have a place that you're not in a hurry to return to. I've been here two years in a row on business/pleasure but won't stay here next year.

On the positive side, the staff are very pleasant and do their best to accommodate you.

“Nice location to see a great town”

As Marriott's go, this is one of the better ones. Located on the banks of the river, the rooms are not ultra modern but more than comfortable and the staff are friendly.

The hotel has a nice terrace out back for drinks and dinner and an impressive gym. A few perks that stood out for me were the free coffee in the morning in the lounge and the jogging route maps with cool towels and iced tea for after.

Heidelberg itself is a great town, certainly not something I would normally associate with Germany but more like a France or Italy.

Hotel was pretty comfortable for 149 EUR a night, would certainly recommended it.

“Good hotel, nice and friendly”

We stayed for one night en route to home. The staff were super friendly and very helpful.

The room was a regular type hotel room but with a nice window in it, good big comfy bed and lots of nice big pillows and sheets.

The room service menu was quite impressive and breakfast was pretty good too.

We will stay here again in future.

“No Sleep in the most expensive hotel of our trip”

Marriott Heidelberg Hotel

The Staff is Service oriented, the rooms are great, it is a Marriott, the location is lovely on the river and only a block from the Tram that takes you all the way to the old town in a couple of minutes. The breakfast buffet is huge if you get to it.

But the noise/music from the wedding reception in one of the conference rooms was non-stop until 2:30 am. Every staff person was apolegetic and they all said it would be over in ten minutes, from 10:30 on. We called the desk four times, and even went down at 2 am. No other rooms. They offered a free breakfast, that was already included in our room.

Since we pre-paid the attitude was well we can't do anything on the price. Nice. They get paid. The service gets paid. And they shift blame from one to the other. So no sleep in the most expensive hotel of our trip.

They gave me the business managers card but neglected to mention that the office is closed on the weekends, when we checked out.

And the desk incorrectly told us the time for the breakfast, so we missed it. It ends half an hour earlier on Sundays because of the Brunch special which happens to start when you have to check out.

We have stayed in Marriotts all over the world but this is the first time they essentially said this is not our problem we already have your money.
