Friends recommended this hotel and we couldn't have been more impressed. It was just perfect. The location cannot be beat... right in the center of town and close to EVERYTHING. Some reviews complain about the noise since it is on a quaint yet very popular street. But we thought this bustling location made you experience the city and its night life in a very real way. Our hotel room overlooked the main street, and the noise was really not that bothersome... we even kept the windows open a lot. But once you closed the windows, you truly could not hear a thing.

The service was outstanding.. the young lady that manages there is so friendly and genuine in her hospitality.

Bathrooms are large, clean, modern... rooms are comfortable and fairly large for European standards. Everything is, of course, extremely clean and neat... and the whole place has the most authentic feel to it.

Finally... the food is GREAT. We ate at the restaurant for dinner 2 our of our 3 nights there...

The hotel met our expectation - and was a little over our normal budget. We wanted a simple 'Gasthaus' with classic bedding and Bavarian hospitality. Rooms were clean and very nice. Breakfast excellent. We had dinner in the hotel and it was OK, rather excessive portions and heavy for summer. The service ok.

It is on the MAIN walking street so was rather noisy and smoky when the tour busses of tourists arrived. Heidelberg itself was a tourist trap.

This is a lovely gasthaus right in the centre of the old town within easy walking distance of all the sights of Heidelberg. Our room was lovely, tastefully decorated with a large bathroom with a separate shower and bath. Not something that you always get in Germany! The breakfast was also of a good quality but perhaps a little more choice would have been nice. We ate in the restaurant for one night and enjoyed our meal. The restaurant is atmospheric and popular so you may need to book. The only potential downside is one that is true for all accommmodation in the old town; there is no parking. However, public car parks are near and the hotel has negotiated a reduced price. It is possible to pull up near the hotel to offload bags and also as there is a lift in the gasthaus I would have no problems recommending this to disabled persons

First of all, all of the email correspondence I had with this lovely hotel was so efficient and polite. They always emailed back right away
and could not have been more helpful or friendly. We had an AMAZING room that was actually more like an apt. (room 8!) with a view of the castle. This hotel could not be more perfectly located...it is central
to absolutely everything. The restaurant is delicious, too! We cannot wait to go back and fantasized about living there, it was so cozy and really perfect.
