We stayed here in spring and had a balcony with a view of the castle (which is lit up at night...beautiful!!), so we were able to sit on our balcony and enjoy the view. The breakfast was wonderful, the hotel is within walking distance of everything in the town and the staff was friendly. The rooms and hotel itself are nothing exciting, but it was clean and the location makes it just right. This is also off the main road of the town so it is nice and quiet at night.

Wonderful view of the castle. Service was excellent, very helpful. Beds were soft. Breakfast was good, though no fruit provided.

It’s a little hotel, an old building. Room size was fine; the bathroom was pretty small, they could sure replace the mattresses with newer ones and the furnitures old as well. But, they were all clean.
And, the most important thing is, nothing can beat the view from our balcony, we looked directly towards the Neuschwanstein castle, so whenever you would like to enjoy the majestic view of the castle, you just need to step into the balcony. And that’s for an unbelievable price of 46 Euros/night for a double room, including breakfast.
Breakfast was modest but delicious. The choices were not exactly large, but, we find everything they served fresh and of excellent quality.
I think this was a good place to stay.

When we first arrived, the sign on reception said "closed until 3:00pm." I read this out loud and the proprietor/front desk lady just happened to be coming up the steps behind me and she said rudely, "yes, as it says in your confirmation," like I should have known it didn't open until 3! She did check us in (reluctantly) but said we'd have to come back in a few hours to get our key. Fine. (I later checked all my e-mails and confirmation documents: nowhere was I warned that the reception didn't open until late afternoon. Waiting until 3:00 wouldn't normally have been a problem, but she seemed to make a big deal of it, making us feel that we were stupid guests who can't read and have the audacity to show up at 1:00pm!).

Anyway, we stayed in a building behind the hotel. The room was sparsely furnished but definitely adequate for the price we paid (€57 for a double room). The comfy beds and hot shower were welcome amenities after the other places we'd visited on this stay! We did have a view of Neuschwanstein from our balcony, but our friends in the room next door did not (main hotel building in the way)... Breakfast was average for Germany - some cereal and bread choices, with jam and Nutella and coffee or tea.

Overall, I would recommend this hotel as a good budget choice, as long as you don't plan on showing up before 3:00 or after 8:00! ;)
