Myself and my friends stayed in the Atrium hotel for 2 nights in the middle of July. The weather outside was extremley hot and humid. The hotel itself had no airconditioning. The bedrooms were absolutely stifling and when we enquired at reception the best they could do was give us a little table top fan which wasn't a great help although on the second night they did give us a tall fan with a stand which was better than the small one
Also the bedroom doors are very difficult to open. When you put the key into the lock it just keeps turning but the door doesn't open. After 15-minutes trying ourselves we had to call for help. The young man who came up from reception demonstrated turning the key and at the same time putting a foot to the bottom of the door and then it opens with a good final push.
The bedrooms were clean and tidy but a little outdated, not the usual decor for a Best Western which I found it hard to believe it was. The ensuite bathroom was lovely and very clean.
However this hotel provides a truly wonderful hot and cold buffett style breakfast. It was fresh, delicious and plentiful in a bright and airy restaurant with very pleasant staff providing teas and coffee. We were very, very impressed.
Also Munich is a really cool and chic city. We loved it. The hotel itself is in a Turkish neighbourhood which seemed really quite safe and is within easy walking distance of the city centre, Marienplatz and the main train station.
Overall this hotel is not great to sleep in during the summer months but adequate in other ways.
