“Convenient, but slightly out of the way”

Overall, the hotel was fine. It had all the basics - decent bathroom for European Hotel. When we arrived, it was slightly difficult to find the hotel, as it was hidden on amongst many man apartment buildings. The hotel is actually under renovation right now, the lobby is torn apart -- and the check in desk is a little desk in the lower floors hallway. The hotel rooms are located on the 13-15 floor of the building. The remaining 1-12 are actually apartments.

That said, the hotel is quite convenient. Within 3 minutes from the train station. It will take approximately 15-20 minutes to hit old city (Marientplatz).

People at the hotel was nice and english skills are decent. (the only odd thing was, they didn't understand what department stores are...we even gave an example of a department in Berlin for reference!...good thing we found our own in Karlplatz anyways).

Lastly, the price at this place was unbeatable. I found a cheaper price on expedia.com and they matched it with 10% discount as well. I only had to pay 55 Euro per night!

“A great experience”

We stayed overnight in this hotel and loved it. The hotel is undergoing renovations currently but there is minimal disruption to guests and we were lucky enough to be upgraded to one of the newly-reburbished executive rooms. It was absolutely lovely and very plush - the hotel has only three stars at the moment but the renovated rooms are definitely of four star standard, at least. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful - this hotel is highly recommended.

“Great Hotel”

My husband, young daughter and I stayed for 4 nights here during Easter. We loved the hotel and the excellent English speaking front desk staff. The rooms start from the 13th floor and caters 80% of their business to professionals therefore you may be able to find bargain stays during the weekend. The rooms were fairly large and on the American plan. We received a very nice additional bed for our daughter at no charge. This hotel is part of the Starwood Hotel chains known for their upscale properties. Big advantage is that it is in the Olympic Park complex built for the 1972 Olympics and if your a a runner or swimmer this area is ideal. You can take advantage of the dozens of acres in this park as well as the Olympic Pool. The Hotel is located also in the section where there is a shopping center catering to the residents of the Olympic Village. The shopping center has 4 bakeries, a large Tengelman market, a separate fruit stand, post office, etc. Some people prefer to be right in the city, but for us - a quick 10- to 15 minute ride from Olympic Park to the center of town was no problem. Munich is an incredible city to see and we absolutely recommend this hotel and would come back.

“World Cup Visit”

Four Points by Sheraton Munchen Olympiapark

We stayed at the Four Points by Sheraton Olympiapark and enjoyed our stay. Primarily, we picked this location since it was near the FanFest for the World Cup and was a cheaper location (and quieter than downtown) during World Cup. In future, I would stay in downtown Munich since the tourist sites and restaurants/cafes/beer gardens/shops are all downtown. However, it is a very quick ride to the downtown on the subway (15 minutes) so this is still a good location and I would recommend this hotel as above average. The rooms are small (but compared to North America - most European rooms are) and there is no a/c. The hotel is well maintained, clean with VERY comfortable beds. Try to get a room that doesn't face the BMW plant, since the noise will wake you up early on weekdays if you sleep with the windows open. The proximity to the Olympiapark is a real plus. The pool entrance fee is only 3.5 Euros and there is a park like outside area with lounge chairs attached to the pool which makes up for the fact that the hotel doesn't have a pool. It is only a 10 minutes walk from the hotel. (However, I think only one hotel in Munich has a hotel pool). There are lots of bakeries in the area and a small supermarket and great local Italian restaurant (the Forum). The hotel's restaurant is very expensive by Munich's standards. The service at the hotel was outstanding - the people were incredibly helpful and friendly. Munich is a wonderful city and this is a good location to pick.

“Munich Hotel”

This hotel is located at the site of the 1972 Olympics and dates from that period. It is clean and well maintained, but starting to show its age. Its advantages are its convenience to the Metro and quick access to downtown Munich (15-20 minutes) without the high prices of staying downtown. There are also several pastry shops and restaurants within a couple of minutes walk, which means that you do not have to rely on the restaurant in the hotel. The room is small by American standards but typical for European hotels. All in all, we enjoyed our stay and would return.
