I have been to this hotel 3 times over several years period, last time in the end of July 2008. Rooms are okay, with the necessary amenities, although they could offer better compared to similar class of hotels. Some of the guest rooms are extremely small. One big minus, if you stay in summer, is the lack of air condiition. The variety of food offered for breakfast also deteriorated during the years, as well as customer service. All in all this hotel is fine for a short stay - maximum 2-3 nights, having in mind the convenient location.

Chose this principally because I could park ... which was useful, but the slope into the underground car park was so steep as to be very hazardous, and the entrance is not easy to spot.

Room ... comfortable, please with bathroom. Double bed seemed very narrow. Main problem was that no air conditioning and very hard to keep room at all cool - surrounding streets too noisy to leave windows open.

Very impressed with breakfasts, which were wide ranging and excellent, and impeccable English spoken by staff.

BUT arrived home to find unauthorised charge taken from credit card, which took days of emails to sort out and was only refunded after threatening to report the hotel to the tourist authorities. This alone means I won't be going back, and find it hard to recommend to others.

I was only in Munich for 1 night at the end of my Romantic Road tour. I wish I had spent at least 2 more nights here. The location of the hotel is excellent. It is close to many cafes, shops and the Englischer Gardens. U-bahn is conveniently located just a couple blocks away.

The rooms are quite spacious. Although there was no bath tub, the character of my room made up for that. My room had french doors that opened to the outside. This was great to get fresh air, however there was no balcony so there was a steel barrier in place to prevent someone from stepping over the edge.

The front desk staff was very helpful and curteous. The breakfast quality was great, and there was quite a selection. The breakfast consisted of meats, cheeses, assorted juices, eggs, bacon and breads and cold cereals.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in July. The rooms were adequate, clean, and the bed was comfortable. The euopean shower was challenging not to get water all over the floor, but that might have been my inexperience. I stayed in a single room, and my 2 boys stayed in the double room next door. They had a little balcony looking over the street. I had 2 narrow windows, one I kept open for fresh air. All in all, I thought the rooms were very decent, especially for the price. There were normal city sounds outside. The neighborhood was great...youngish, one subway stop north of the university, lots of cafes and stores and great access (5 min. walk) to the fantastic subway system. The breakfast served in the morning was great! I wish I could go there every morning just for breakfast! They had buffet style offerings of cereal/granola, danish, rolls and bread, scrambled eggs, yogurt, cheeses, fruit and coffee. We went to Wimmers down on the street corner for late night sandwiches and bakery treats. I loved Munich and would stay here again, unless I had a lot more money to spend on a more luxurious hotel.
