Eden is a good choice for the average stay in Munich. It did everything I needed my hotel to do: Comfortable rooms, individual bathrooms, good inclusive breakfast, safe area of town, close access to public transportation, and yet centrally located.
The rooms was one of the larger european rooms I've stayed in. Both my and my parent's room had a little sitting area. Each room appears to be individually decorated, very clean, with nice sized bathrooms. Another surprise bonus was that the rooms have electric shutters that allow you to black out any light (they help a bit with the road noise below as well). The TV was small, but had a handful of English speaking channels...though TV watching wasn't exactly on our agenda. There was nothing about our room or bathroom that needed improving. Very pleased in this area.
The breakfast area was nice, but the service was somewhat lacking. Not enough to become annoying, but it was easier once I accepted the lack of staff and attention. The buffet breakfast seemed to essentially be the same including, but not limted to, hard rolls, a few choises of pastries, several types of sausages/meats, cheese, eggs, varied fruit, yogurt, cereal, tea, coffee, champagnes, orange juice. It was all average-above average and suited us fine.
The location geographically in the city, as well as in proximity to transportation were both excellent. Walking to the Marienplatz was very doable at about 10-15 minutes. The train station DIRECTLY across (see picture out my window) also made it a simple trip. We used the trolly that runs right outside the hotel to visit other attractions. Note: A trolly runs on both main sides of the train station. So truly...your location can't be much better. When travelling to and from the airport we merely rolled our suitcase across the street and we were there.
Overall the staff was helpful and friendly and couldn't have asked for much more. We enjoyed the spa area on the top floor that included treadmills, hot and dry saunas, and "relaxation beds". They have slippers and towels for your enjoyment . I would definitely stay here again. It was a touch more expensive than I would have liked for off-season, but would recommend it to a friend. Happy Travels!
