After an hour and a half trapped in a smoking car on the train from Nuremberg, with my coat over my head, I was so grateful the Eden Wolff was literally steps away from the main train station in Munich. I couldn't wait for fresh air and fresh clothes.
The hotel was nice and well priced for Munich accommodations, and it was only about a 15-minute walk to Marienplatz if you'd prefer the exercise over the train. The room was fairly small, but the use of a large mirror and sconces made it more spacious and inviting, and the bathroom was clean. I did notice that I had to take a pretty big step up to get into the shower/tub. May not be a big deal, but thought I'd mention it.
Downstairs you'll find a pretty good buffet breakfast in a cozy hotel-attached restaurant, too.
The only minor gripes I have about this place:
1. The gigantic windows seemed to fall off the hinges every time I opened them. I don't know if that was how they were installed, to open sort of diagonally, but I kept thinking they would just drop to the floor any second.
2. The hallway was smoker friendly, though the double doors to our non-smoking room seemed to keep out the smell. (To enter you have to walk through two doors, one directly after the other.) However, you may catch some smoke from the street if you open the windows. I noticed it a few floors up. If you mind the smoke, you may want the highest floor you can get, or one away from the main street.
