While on a 3 night trip through Munich, we transferred from a 2 star hotel on our first night to the 4 star Exquisit Hotel – what a difference. This hotel is centrally located within easy walking distance of Munich City Center. The hotel is located on a side street making it much more quiet - no street noises in the room.

The front desk people were very friendly. If you arrive early, before your room is available, the front desk will hold your bags and deliver them to your room when it is available. This allows you to start your day in Munich without the worry of your luggage.

The room was very clean and spacious. The restroom was clean and the shower had good pressure and hot water. The beds were very comfortable and the linens clean and crisp.

The morning breakfast buffet had many selections hot and cold to choose from. Plenty of variety. The wait staff was attentive.

While staying at the Exquisit, make sure you check out the restaurant/bar across the street, Mozart. The food at Mozart was very tasty and the service was excellent. Very affordable.

On our next trip to Munich, we will certainly book the Exquisit again.

“Nice place to stay in Munich”

Exquisit Hotel

My wife and I booked tickets to Munich on very short notice. All Hotels in and out of the center were already full. We recieved a very kind email from one of the staff members at Exquisit Hotel in Munich letting us know they had one room available after sending just about everyone in Munich an email. We went ahead and took a chance and booked our room with them after reading some reviews on Tripadvisor. First impression was that the Hotel is in a very nice area about ten minutes walking distance from the center. The room had two single beds put together, not our best choice since we wanted one bed, but it was alright. The room itself was medium to large in size and very clean. The bathroom was nice and clean as well. The temp inside the room was perfect since it happened to be quite cold outside. No complaints there. Breakfast was included in the room rate, and as some other tripadvisor members have noted it really was very good. A good choice of breads, meats, sausages, eggs, juices and a bunch of other stuff. The staff is very nice and professional. Overall, it was a very nice Hotel. We would definetely stay here again. I'd recomend this Hotel.

“Didn't love it”

Exquisit Hotel

I have stayed here two times. Based on the reviews, I thought I would love this hotel and actually spent a little more money than I would have liked to stay here.

First the good things: Rooms were huge. One time we had a room with a loft bedroom with a large sitting room. The bathroom was two rooms, one with a toilet and one with a shower. Theother room was a suite which had a fully separate bedroom with a door and also a two- room bathroom. I liked this room much better. The rooms were clean. The breakfast buffet was pretty good - lots of choices, especially on the weekends. It is very close to a train stop and probably less than 15 minute walk to Marienplatz. The staff is mostly very nice and speak a number of languages which is very helpful.

The cons: I know that a lot of European hotels go by the one key system, but this is really not practical in the modern day. With the prevalance of cell phones and more independent travelers, it is a little ridiculous to expect both people to be arriving at a room at the same time. If one person is in the room sleeping - especially upstairs in the loft it is really incomvenient. The alternative is to leave your door ajar until the other person comes back or while you bring the key back to the reception desk - neither of these is a very good idea. I understand that they don't want you to leave with the key - which would be difficult given the usually large attachments to the keys, but they should really have more than one key per room. A key card system would be much more efficient. I have seen this at other European hotels.

The showers and toiletries at this hotel could use a little upgrade. There is one dispenser of all purpose soap in the shower - which was not refilled and ran out during a shower - kind of a pain. No bar soap which I like and conditioner and moisture lotion would have been great. Also, the water pressure was extremely weak and the water was lukewarm.

The loft bedroom - on the fifth floor- had a spiral wooden staircase that looked as if it had been polished to death. I was pretty nervous about slipping every time I walked on the stairs.

The location, while close to a lot, is a little difficult as it is kind of hard to get across the tram tracks and the busy street towards the center of town.

While my negatives outweigh the positives, it was a pretty decent place and would be a great hotel for many people. As for myself, it probably doesn't work.

I have stayed with my boyfriend at this hotel (it was his second time and one of the staff remembered him!) and we loved it. Great location, great staff (help desk man spoke French, German, English and Spanish) and very nice room. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and full of German specialities. We would return there any time.

“Best breakfast in Bavaria!”

Stayed here for 3 nights during Oktoberfest, and it was super easy to find from the train station. Great restaurants/cafes in the hotel block (the Mozart Cafe had a great scene on the weekend), and one train stop from the Marienplatz square. The breakfast buffet was amazing and had the largest and most diverse spread we saw during our time in Europe (the 4 other hotels in Germany/Austria we stayed at didn't even come close to comparing). The fresh baked croissants were to die for. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were great and front desk let us borrow an ironing board and iron for our entire stay. We had friends at the Kempinski who paid triple what we did with cramped rooms and overpriced breakfasts that were not that good. The King's Center hotel was also quite dissapointing (we stayed there on our last night and really wished we had gone back to the Exquisit). I HIGHLY recommend the Exquisit.
