As stated in previous posts the hotel takes a bit of locating (especially if you use the haphazard postcode locations given by multimap). After a while of wandering around though we managed to find the place. The reception is nice and the people there very helpful (all speaking perfect English).
Up to the room we went (on the sixth floor) at the rear of the hotel. The room is showing distinct signs of age, but the beds are comfy enough. There is a supermarket (well two actually)directly opposite the hotel to get some cheap food/drinks in to avoid minibar accidents.
The room falls down in the bathroom though. Or more to the point the shower. The pressure is great, in fact it is one of the hardest showers I've had (you can lower the pace if you wish). It's the fitting. Everytime you switch it on the shower starts moving about, and on many occasions falls out of its hold. Add onto this that if there are any windows open in the room the shower curtain blows into the shower (why oh why don't hotels use proper solid shields?). It really was a disaster every morning. The rest of the bathroom is excellent.
The breakfasts are nothing short of fantastic. Juice, coffee, fruit, Yoghurt, meats, cereal, the list is endless. It gets very busy but they kept well on top of the requirements whilst I was there.
We never had anything at the hotel in terms of evening meals as you can just hop on the S-Bahn/U-Bahn or walk the fifteen minute walk into the centre. Taking the plaudits with us in the restaurant stakes were the Osteria Italiana (advise booking) and Seehaus im Englischgarten (very easy to get into). Not cheap but pretty nice.
Now the bit where I go: BEWARE. If you have kids. The television showed rude television throughout the day on some of the later programme numbers (the pay per view ones). If you flicked through the whole lot (like everyone does on arrival at the hotel just in case there is Sky Sports or something good) you will come across it. It stays on for about a minute but is very graphic and not something you want someone who shouldn't stumbling upon. I don't know if the hotel can knock it off or not.
