In september 2007 my wife and I ( 70 years old) stayed for a week at the Alfa hotel at Munich. This hotel is perfectly located near the main train station and within walking distance of the town center (Marienplatz). We rate this hotel as a good three star hotel with a friendly and service orientated staff. They serve a good continental breakfast.
The hotel consists of three different units around a courtyard. All these units can only be entered by using stairs. As there are no slopes for wheelchairs this hotel is unsuitable for people with a physical handicap.

We are a Scottish couple (mid fifties) who stayed here recently for three nights. No smoking room relatively small but warm and appeared to be newly decorated. Clean and facilities all functioned. TV, mini bar but no tea/coffee provided in room. Superb continental breakfast (buffet). Excellent location very near Central Station. We considered the hotel to be very good value at 216 euros for 3 nights.

What a nice surprise! We stayed here for three nights in November 2006. Total room cost was $225 euros for a double with a private bathroom. Booked through inthotels.

The location cannot be beat - just a block from the train station and from the gigantic Herties department store. And a pleasant walk to Marienplatz - through a nice shopping area.

Although the decor was a bit dated in the rooms - think 80's - room was very clean, great shower, minibar with reasonable prices, and comfortable beds. We had a car one night during our stay and it cost 9 euros for parking in a lot directly behind hotel.

The breakfast room was very nice - newly decorated and bright. Good quality juices plus scrambled eggs (after two weeks of sausage and cheese for breakfast this was welcome) and assorted fruit, rolls, bread, cereal, etc

There is an internet terminal available for a fee but we used one of the many internet cafes within two blocks of hotel. The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. I would stay here again without hesitation.
