“Perfect for the Price - Clean and Great Location”

My boyfriend and I just returned from a 4 night stay at the Tryp Munchen. The hotel is wonderful and deffinetely made our stay more enjoyable.

The Tryp Munchen is centrally located to all of the major sites in Munich. The hotel is 2 blocks from the Octoberfest grounds. It is one block from the Theresienweise train station (U4andU5) and approx. 4 blocks from the main train station, Hauptbahnhof. At Hauptbanhof train station you can get on over 5 different U and S ban lines - including those going to the Marienplatz, the airport and other sites in Munich. You can easily walk to the Hauptbanhof statition to avoid transferring off of the Theresienweise - it probably depends on how much you like walking. The hotel is approximately a 15 minute walk to the Marienplatz (city center) and 50 mins from the Olympic Park. My boyfriend and I liked to walk and explore new cities so we took the walk to and from the Marienplatz everyday and night. It was a very safe walk, however, I would recommend walking towards the main stration to get into town via Bayerstrasse street if you have small children, there are a couple of different strip clubs/adult shops on the most direct walk (Landwherstrasse steet) that families may want to avoid. Nonetheless, both walks were safe - day or night. We never felt worried.

We had a double bed room. The room size was small compared to American standards but it was clean and modern. Overall, the room was basically a hallway leading to the bed and bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the blankets were very soft and warm. The bathroom contained a tub and shower. It was very clean and modern. We noticed that the rooms did not have AC which would be a prob in the summer, however, they do provide you with a fan.

The hotel staff was VERY friendly. We asked them for directions to various restuarants and they took the time to look them up online and then mark the location on our map. After checking out and arriving at the airport, I realized that I lost my ring. I called the hotel and the staff was very helpful. Within 2 mins they called me back and had found the ring in my room. Upon returing to the states I phoned them and they agreed to ship the ring to my home. Overall, great service.

Our price didn't include breakfast but we walked into the restaurant one morning and it looked good and clean. Nonethelss our walk to the city center offerred plenty of bakeries to catch a quick bite and get a local flavor. The hotel also had a bar which is open 24 hours (it was fully stocked).

The hotel has wireless internet which is not free. They also have 2 computers it the main lobby. The cost during our stay was 3 euro for 15 mins and 5 euro for 30 mins. The service was quick and the computers were always empty when we used them.

Overall, the price and location for this hotel were great. We loved walking to the city center every morning. We can't wait going back next fall for Octoberfest.

Before we start, this is a fine hotel to see munich on a weekend break.

Myself and my friends stayed here from sat 27 to 29 oct and found the hotel perfect for our needs.

The rooms were fine and large to deal with two grown men in each room. Huge bathrooms including walkin showers.

Location wise the hotel was fine, five mins from train station 3 tube stops from marien platz(tube station behind hotel 100m)

The hotel is definitely a three star hotel on a par with holiday inns and and comfort inns.(for irish people, just like bewleys)

A couple of our group used the sauna which they said was great for curing a hangover.

There are hotels with a proper four star standard (unlike a lot of central european so called 4 stars) but this cant be beaten especially if u would rather spend the extra money on yourself rather than a room.

P.S. go to the olympic stadium area. its not just a pitch but there are loads of things to do there

“First class service”

Tryp Munchen

Nov 16, 2007

We recently spent an enjoyable weekend at this hotel having selected it from the reviews on this website. It lived up to expectations and proved to be a cosy retreat from the cold and windy streets of Munich. Our room was spacious, clean with a lovely well set-out bathroom. It had everything we needed. Having requested a bath by e-mail, we were pleased to find our request had been noted and we got the room we requested. Breakfast was well worth the cost-Euro 13 each, and we left the hotel each morning, well stuffed. We ate out in the evenings as we didn't fancy the Spanish or Bavarian Menu on offer, but plenty ate there and enjoyed the food. The surrounding area could be quite colourful depending on your frame of mind-it is not in the red light district, but strip clubs were well in evidence. We felt quite safe walking in the area at night and actually enjoyed all the noise and smells of all the food on offer in the surrounding streets. Take a map and a guidebook with you and do your homework before you go-THE SHOPS ARE SHUT ON SUNDAY- use the underpass rather than cross the roads- it is a whole new world down there-the German transport system is far better than ours and not difficult to use. Have a great time

We had a double room and were very pleased with it. The room was clean, kind of modern with a modern bathroom and was very affordable. The front desk staff were also helpful. It was only about a 10 minute walk from the train station and a reasonble distance to Marienplatz. I would stay there again.

We spent three nights at the Tryp Munchen in October 2007 and would definitely stay there again. Front desk staff were very helpful and efficient at both check in and check out. Room was typical European, not particularly big, but clean and space was well used. Very convenient to the main train station and a short walk to the Marienplatz and main tourist destinations.
Only minor complaints were the two twins pushed together as a double (not unusual in Europe) and the hotel bar service was not the best on a busy evening.
The price was very good considering the location and the poor conversion rate of the dollar to the euro.
