Our last trip to Europe began and ended at the Hotel Kriemhild as we arrived in and left Europe through Munich. This hotel has been a real find, located in a quiet residential neighborhood, but a short streetcar ride to center of Munich. The Nymphenburg Palace with its beautiful gardens is a five minute walk. However, my favorite neighborhood attraction is Hirschgarten, a large and wonderful biergarten. The small hotel is family owned, and the personal service is excellent. The rooms are comfortable and very clean. Breakfast is served in the pleasant dining area, and the buffet includes a wide variety of breads and rolls, juices, eggs, meat and cheese, cereals, and fresh tea and coffee.
We have stayed at this hotel six times and plan to return. In 2002, we had a family reunion during Oktoberfest, and reserved five rooms. All were very pleased with the accomodations, and Hotel Kriemhild helped make the event a success.
Eric and his family are great hosts who make you feel welcome. They have a personal knowledge of Munich and the surrounding area, and are more that willing to share their information and recommendations. We plan to make our seventh visit in the near future.
