I am extremely surprised at the review of GeoffSh, mainly because it does not correspond with my experience at all. I am especially shocked that he accusses the hostess of theft! This seems very far-fetched, and I am inclined to dispute it.
I admit it might have been on the expensive side given it was the German equivalent of a B& B, however its great location made up for it. There were some wonderful restaurants and "Hofbräuhaus" just down the street - one of them had the tastiest schnitzels in the known universe! We also found an organic supermarket nearby that had absolutely everything. The train station is just around the corner and it takes only minutes to get to the gorgeous CBD.
My husband and I stayed at this Pension twice on our recent tour through Europe and we were very happy both times. Our double room was expansive and had lovely comfortable armchairs in front of the TV. The bathroom was clean & spacious and you could set the temperature of your hot water which was lovely. Breakfast was extremely satisfying and Mrs Raimann was the model of politeness and "Gastfreundschaft". Her English is excellent and she was very helpful, allowing us to leave our bags with her and picking them up in the middle of the night before our overnight train to Florence departed. I would stay with her again and again.
