Great location, only a few minutes (~5-10 mins) walk away from the train station. You do not need to take a taxi, just walk across the street and you'll get to the hotel easily. It is also far enough away from the pedistrian city centre/touristy spot (~10mins+) to avoid noisy partiers (unlike Ibis Nurenberg Koenigstor, which is right beside a karaoke bar + Pizza Hut store).

The service here was excellent. Room was cleaned daily even though we left our hotel rooms late. The front desk provided us with umbrellas on rainy days, directions to tourist spots, and fixed up booking errors.

This hotel was definitely worth its price and I would stay here again. Also a great plus was the free access to a computer terminal with internet and printer.

Tip: Try to book the family room, it is a lot more spacious than the typical/generic rooms shown at the website. Not sure if it can be booked online though.

The Ibis Marientor was well located about 1 block from the pedestrian zone and about the same from the train station.

The room was adequate with updated bathroom facilities. The breakfast had the best selection that we found on this trip traveling to budget hotels. The hotel had two elevators. The staff was good. They had a free computer terminal for customers.

We felt that it met all our needs as a good price.

We arrived at the hotel and had a very nice reception. The receptionist was very friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming. We parked in the basement of the hotel and then went on to the street, as it was the day Germany won against Argentina. When we came back we started to notice a foul smell coming from the washroom. I couldn't find anything wrong but the smell was overpowering. I closed the door so that at least we could sleep. The room was very hot and I opened the window, to find out it opened to a roof with acces to every other room. I asked the reception to change me to other room, based on the foul smell and the security issue. The new receptionist was rude, did not want hear about it and made it clear I was wasting mi time.

Otherwise the hotel was nice, had available internet, but 50% of the receptionists shouldn't have been there.

Would I recommend it? Yes, with the proviso you check the room thoroughly, and demand immediate replacement should you not like it. Oh well, you lose some, you win some...

if you have ever stayed in an ibis before you will know exactly what to expect of the new buildprefab designs they are identical in every city throughout the universe i found it to be bland with no character but this hotel is reasonably priced and is in a good location but there is another in the old town centre which is better and offers a bit of personality book this one but go to the marientor if you cant get in there
