This is a budget hotel near Nuremberg station. The rooms facing the station are smaller and very noisy. The rooms facing the street are slightly less noisy (though you still get the pleasure of the station announcer's voice from 5.a.m. until 1 a.m. the following day) and have bigger beds and a little more room. However, the downside is that you pay 10 Euros more a night for them. the room we stayed in on the third floor was clean and non smoking - but you do have to ask. The bathroom was fine but was shower only, no bath.

The breakfast buffet looked fine, but its not cheap and you can find nearly as much for less within walking distance and, of course, the station has lots of fast food outlets.

The staff were helpful but there is no bar or restaurant worthy of the name and US visitors will be surprised to find themselves charged for internet access at the rate of 5 Euros for an hour and 3 Euros after the first occasion to borrow an iron.

In summer the absence of air conditioning is a problem, but you can borrow a fan and this will at least move the air around and help block out the station noise. We found that this worked OK, but that might have been the beer and sausage working!

The hotel provides free transport passes for all local transport on a two daily basis and this is very useful. As is the mini bar, mainly because you can remove all the goodies and store your purchases from the local Liddels in it.

In sum, its a better than average budget hotel, that is very well located but you do get what you pay for. Still, we stayed there for 15 nights and found it OK.

Located close to the railway station which is convenient, however makes for a rather noisy experience especially if you get a room to the back of the hotel where you can actually here the speakers from the railroad tracks (and they start at about 4 in the morning as I found out).

If you stay here, definitely ask for a room facing the rather quiet street in front of the hotel.

Breakfast buffet is also below average.

My room had a very stained carpet and an uncomfortable bed.

Would definitely not stay here again if I can get another hotel at a slightly higher price.

We stayed at the Intercity Nuremberg in December 2006. The location was very good as you only have to walk a short distance when you arrive by train. It's also centrally located, which is of course an advantage. I was surprised, however, that the hotel had been awarded three stars, as the corridors and the rooms have pretty much of a "budget" feel to them, everything fairly small and fairly basic. Our double room had a double bed, a small desk with a chair, a minibar, a small bathroom with a shower (no bath tub) and that was that. The walls could have done with a lick of paint. The furniture was clean and functional but not particularly stylish. I probably would not choose this hotel again as you get other budget hotels in the centre of Nuremberg which also charge budget prices.

This modern hotel is only 5 minutes walk from the main Station, and as a result, the rear of the hotel overlooks the main line trains as they arrive in Nuremberg.

We stayed here three nights, and the room being at the back of the hotel overlooked the station, which made the room very noisy. Not too bad with the window closed, but as the weather was very warm, and no air conditioning, we needed the window open during the night, which made it difficult to sleep with the loud Station announcements and trains coming and going until after midnight!

However, the room itself, while only medium sized was very clean and pleasant, and there are no smoking rooms on floor 3 if you request them, but be sure to ask for a room facing the FRONT of the hotel, unless you like the noise of the Station!

The buffet breakfast was excellent, and the staff very friendly (and spoke good English) and apart from the noise, we enjoyed this hotel and would stay there again, but would insist on a room facing the front of the hotel!

Overall, a good location for exploring Nuremberg on foot, or using public transport. The DB Rail Museum is only 10 minutes walk away too.
