“Very poor service”

Stayed here whilst on a driving tour of Germany. On check in, the valet parking attendant took my car. Later that day I was informed that the attendant had crashed my car into the hotel's garage door - causing over £5,000 worth of damage to my car. It also caused me to cut my holiday short as the car had to spend three days in the german dealership being made drivable.

Despite assurances that the hotel would immediately pay for all damage, I am still arguing with their insurance company.

Even worse they gave me no discount off the bill, and even tried to charge me for the valet parking!

I am (almost) lost for words.

“Nice place”

Spent the night after XMas at the Eisenhut after a week of skiing in Garmisch. It is a nice place. Able to fit my wife and I plus 3 kids into one room very comfortably. Restaurant looked a little stuffy and expensive for me and my kids, but there are plenty of restaurant options within walking distance. We had a fantastic dinner at the Burgerkellar just down the street. Hotel location is right in the center of town. It is a little pricey for those on a budget though.

“Very nice hotel -- avoid the restaurant”

Try to get one of the rooms at the back of the house that look out over the valley. It's worth it. Our room not only had a great view, but was larger than is typical for Europe. The hotel in general was excellent for all the reasons others have cited.

The restaurant, however, is a little full of itself. Given the cost and the very formal service, it's more than a little stifling; and the quality of the food just doesn't justify it. Do yourself a favor and find a more casual -- and more enjoyable -- place to eat. You'll save some money, have more fun, and probably have better food.

“Mixed feelings!!”

We stayed 1 night in Hotel Eisenhut this past week. My view of the hotel is probably swayed by the hot temperature that night we stayed there. The hotel has no air conditioning but did give us 3 fans. It was bearable with the fans but if you are traveling during the summer, you may want to find somewhere with air conditioning. I don't think many hotels in Rothenburg have a/c.

The location of the hotel within Rothenburg is great. We went on the Night Watchman's Tour which was great & around the corner from the hotel. Our room was quite large & plenty of room for all 4 of our family.

Rothenburg is a charming town to visit & when the weather is cool, the hotel is probably more comfortable.

“Fits in well with Rothenburg”

From another era.. one best forgot. Some things are charming/tacky deppending on which way you look at things. My god they know how to charge but there again were in Rothenburg.. what can one expect. Well a decent bed for starters. we had a room overlooking the main street all very Hansel & Greatal but the room was like my something that belonged to a Dowerger Duchess who had fallen on hard times.. MOST ODD. Keep a sense of humour and you,ll like the resturant, especially if it's asparagus month (asparagus ice cream no less.. avoid!!) So to sum up, overpriced but so is everywhere in this little corner of Disneyland
