We stayed at the Alexander am Zoo from May 8 to 11, 2006. When we arrived our room was not yet ready so the hotel upgraded us to the Alexander suite at no extra charge. The room was essentially a very tastefully decorated top-floor 1-bedroom apartment with hardwood floors, two bathrooms,a full dining area, a fully equipped kitchen, and a private sundeck. We could not have been more pleased with our stay. The staff at the front desk was very kind and helpful, the included breakfast was excellent, and the location was fine (on a nice quite residential street next to the zoo). The hotel is a pleasant 15-minute walk to the Zeil or a 300m stroll to the Zoo underground station. At 106 Euros/night, the hotel was not cheap but given the hotel's location as well as our upgraded room and the Alexander's excellent staff, it is excellent value and we would highly reccomend the hotel.

After having stayed in various Hotels across Frankfurt I finally found my favorite one - the Best Western Alexander! It's hidden in a residential area but therefore extremely quiet - so I was able to sleep with an open window. The staff is very attentive, the rooms very clean and nicely furnished including a coffe maker. I can only recommend it to other women travellers!

Being in Frankfurt from time to time I never thought there might be a hotel that really cares and is located in a really quiet neighborhood so that one can acually sleep with the window open!
Also the staff is very helpful and the underground is only 2 Blocks away.
I'll come again!

This is a beautiful hotel. The staff are friendly and can speak English but its nice to try speaking in German. The room I had was really clean, very spacious and the street in which the hotel is situated is extermely quiet so I had the best night's sleep I have had in a long time. I was only staying one night but I noticed an area for a sauna so when I go back I will be trying that out. I did read though that a massage is also available so I will check that out too. I made it to breakfast and it was also excellent. I would recommend it for anyone wishing to have a peaceful night's sleep in a comfortable inexpensive friendly hotel.
