A lovely hotel. Stayed for two nights in a double room with a large bed and nice bathroom. Front desk very friendly. The location of the hotel is located on one of the side streets of Gran Via so the location was good as it was an easy walk to the 'casco viejo' or along the river. Walking from the hotel to the Gug.Museum is about 20 minutes if you follow the river (which is a lovely walk).
The only complaint which i have regarding the hotel is that the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything! It was not an ideal siutation as i could hear our neighbours conver. and tele, but nothing is perfect.....

We have just stayed at the Hotel Abando and it is hotel I would highly recommend to anyone spending a few days in Bilbao. We got an internet deal and it was excellent value. The hotel is in a superb location just minutes walk from the tram, Metro and the River. It is also near shopping, bars, restaurants and the main train station. It is about a half hour walk along the river to the Guggenheim.

The bedroom was really comfortable, two great big comfortable beds, great TV, very well maintained room, housekeeping is of a really high standard. The bathroom has got to be the best bathroom I have ever had in a hotel besides the Ritz Carlton. Loads of little goodies supplied.

Because there were so many eating and drinking options nearby we didnt eat in the hotel so I cant comment on the food. Overall staying at the Abando made for a very pleasant stay in Bilbao. If you decide to stay there I hope it enjoy it as much as we did.

Great value hotel in the centre of Bilbao. A short walk to the nearest tram stop, about 20mins walk to the Guggenheim and 15mins to the heart of old town.

Friendly staff, well-appointed rooms, comfortable beds, sparkling bathrooms and efficient quiet airconditioning.

An excellent hotel. I've stayed there twice now and had no complaints whatsoever. The rooms are excellent, the beds huge, even the twin had two queen size beds! Mini bar and great value room service. Even purchaseable movies on the inhouse TV system. Nice english speaking staff which is a rareity in Bilbao! Good location. Close enough to the centre but in a quiet side street away from the noisy trams and nightlife. I'm sure you won't be dissapointed.
