Was a little apprehensive after reading the reviews, but on arrival at the hotel found the "older guy"on reception to be very pleasant and helpful, our room on the 7th floor, although a little difficult to find(accesed via two lifts!) was spotlessly clean a decent size and with a pleasant side view off the balcony of the marina. We only ate breakfast at the hotel but this was very enjoyable (plenty of choice)and to sit on the terrace on the mornings it didnt rain was delightful!
Overall I would say this hotel offers great value for money in a prime location and I would definatelly return again for a short break.

My wife and I found everything about this hotel first class, very friendly, helpfull staff, very clean room, well maintained; the breakfasts were second to none and the views brilliant.
We plan to visit Mallorca again and this will be our first choice for hotels

This hotel was great. How much better can it get than having breakfast outside on a terrace in the sun overlooking the marina? the selection of food for breakfast was also great, with cereals, cooked english, fruit, lovely bread, continental.
Location was fine for us but some may think it is too far (15-20 mins slow walk along the front) from the centre. Also on main bus routes from the airport and to the resorts. On main road with more touristy type bars and restaurants within minutes walk.
Room had fab view over marina too. Only downside was that our room did not have balcony and all the other balconies faced each other so not the best to relax on-but why would you want to stay in your room anyway?
small negative for some is that there was no english TV, for us it was no problem as we wanted to be out exploring anyway.
helpful staff.
Room clean and not at all cramped, with both shower and separate bath. fridge and mini bar.
Hotel also had loads of character, with local art on the walls, loads of mirrors and ornaments.
would definitely return.

We booked just one night at this hotel the night before picking up our cruise in Palma. We had previously stayed 3 nights in Playa de Palma which was not the best experience! I have written that review elsewhere on the site. The Mirador was fabulous in comparison. Very friendly reception staff who were very flexible about checking us in early (1pm). Lovely big double bedroom on the third floor. Gorgeous bathroom with state of the art shower and a music system to relax whilst showering! Was a bit shocked not to find a bath but it wasn't a problem. Full mini bar which we didn't take advantage of as there are lots of bars to choose from within a short distance.

Room was quiet despite being on the front at a low level. Room was spotlessly clean. Breakfast - had lots to choose from and the ability to eat out on the terrace overlooking the harbour was lovely (we could see our cruise ship from there). Check out was easy and we would definitely stay there again when visiting Palma. Taxis stop at the hotel next door so onward travel is a doddle! The Palma sightseeing bus also stops across the road.

Good value for money - we paid approx £75 for B&B through octopus travel using nectar points to get 10% discount.

“A good spot - worth a return.”

Mirador

Just back after long weekend (4 days) at Mirador. We had read many reviews of this place before we went.. but everyone has there own perspective on things.. so here is ours.

Overall we had an excellent experience with the hotel.

Location - next door to Azul hotel and beside Tryp Bellver.
On the main no.1 bus route from airport (ask for Costa Azul stop).
Taxi from airport was 18 euros, taxis from cathedral area - 4 euros. Taxi stop next door at the Tryp Bellver.
About a 15 minute amble to the La Llota / Cathedral area with tapas bars etc.
Lovely views of harbour and seriously expensive yachts !

Rooms - we had booked an upper floor room with sea view, as some reviews suggested noise. We were placed on 3rd floor, but offered 8th floor, by "the not so grumpy older man on" reception. He said we would prefer to stay on 3rd floor - we did. He was very amiable, and we joked about it - perhaps a clash of personalities with other reviewers.

Noise is not noticable - there are good double glazed windows / balcony door - only noise is when you open them and hear the traffic below. Room was very clean and a decent size, minibar, hairdryer, TV etc (no tea/coffee - but why bother when cafes are everywhere), there is electric room ventilation - but it is not air con so does not go as cold as some would like, but does provide a comfortable temperature - this is the only noise you'll hear with your door closed and curtains drawn.

Breakfast is a large hot/cold buffet and you can sit out on the terrace (remember your sunglasses!) it runs from 8am till 11am - so no excuses !!

Spa / pool - a comfortable area on 3rd floor - pool is small (about 25 feet long), but it is meant to be... it is a resistance pool, where you get in and push a button swim against jets of water (you can vary the speed of the jets also) - a lot tougher than doing lengths !!
There are deckchairs to sit and relax and also sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and 2 shower areas. A good spot for a quick morning / early evening refresher before heading out. We were on a city break so not concerned with lying by a pool all day, so it served our purposes well. Open from 9 am to 8pm, but we were in it at 8.45pm on the Sat night - so I guess hours are flexible.

Overall, a very good spot for a short break, or maybe slightly longer. Probably more suited to couples rather than families, where a resort would be better. there were some families there and we spoke to them about it - they were very happy also as they were using it as a base to see Palma and area - they didn't like the "lie around pool" resort type hotels.

As suggested probably not a 4 star (by english tourist board standards), but close enough for the excellent value. It is definitely Spanish 4 star - believe me... I''ve been in 2,3,4 and 5 star hotels in Spain and this is pretty good.

Would we return ?? ..... yes - we booked for August bank holiday as we were checking out.
