We have just spent 10 days at the Hotel Mirador. We had read some negative reviews of this place before we went but thought that the positives were more important to us. We have had a wonderful holiday in Palma and an excellent stay in this hotel.
Rooms - we had booked through an agency with no specific requests other than that a lift was essential- I am partially disabled. When we arrived in the early evening we were placed in a 7th floor room which means the use of 2 lifts to get to that room. Before our luggage was even in the lift, the receptionist came running along to say that he would rather put us in a 4th floor room – much larger with side balcony – lovely views of the marina – all at no extra charge because he could see that I have some difficulty walking. This is what I call service and a caring attitude. Thanks Mirador – you made our holiday!
Noise is not that noticeable or excessive - there are good double glazed windows / balcony door - only noise is when you open them and hear the traffic below. Room was very clean and a good size with all the usual facilities – best shower I have ever seen. My only criticism is that the bedcovers and curtains are a little tired and the curtains & blackout drapes did not run all that smoothly on the rails.
Location - On the main bus route (No.1) from Airport (ask for Costa Azul stop) to the Ferry Terminal. Fare on this bus is only 1.10 euros to town – might be a bit more from the airport. About a 20 minute stroll to the centre of town which is very clean and really beautiful. Fantastic views of harbour – beautiful palm trees line the road and marine promenade.
Breakfast is a large hot/cold buffet with plenty of choice, which can be taken either inside or out on the terrace facing the marina. There really is something for everyone – plenty of fruit.
There are other facilities like Spa pool, sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi and 2 shower areas but we did not use these.
A really excellent hotel for a short break or a longer holiday like ours, but probably not that suitable for families as there is no beach – for them a resort-type hotel may be better. I am not too fussed about star ratings as they are so variable even in England – this hotel is excellent value for money. We would definitely return given the opportunity.
