“Brilliant......Loved it.”

Los Delfines Hotel

We have just come home from a wonderfull holiday in cala n' forcat,we stayed at the Los Delfines Hotel and i can't tell you how impressed we were,
the rooms were basic but overall very clean and tidy,we had two single beds which were already pushed together which was good as my little boy of 2 years would'nt sleep in the cot so he slept between my partner and myself, the beds must of been 8foot wide together so we all had plenty of room.

air conditioning came as standard,(did'nt have to pay extra)although my partner found it to be a little noisy.

we had maid sevice everyday.

the food was lovly,we stayed half board and could'nt complain about anything.it was a mixture of traditional spain food and english,

the location was nice too,we had a room overlooking the aqua park, and although the music went on a little late,12.30am(even though the park closed at 6pm)when you closed the balcony door the music could'nt be heard.

One thing i will mention is the lock on the door to the apartment,i does'nt work.you open the door from the outside with a card key,you then put it in another machine on the inside to turn on all the elecric,on the door is a lock, which when turned you think locks the door from the inside,as i found out to my dismay this does'nt lock the door,we put in a complint to our rep who asked the hotel manager if it was broken and he said that if there was a fire people dont want to be fiddling with locks to exit the room, fair enough we thought but it does't stop young toddlers from opening the door and running off down the corridor, which is what my little boy did,we ended up leaving our cases packed and leaving them against the hotel door to deter him from opening it,luckely this worked......so be warned the locks on the doors dont lock.
There is also no lock on the bathroom door......so if you're sitting upon the throan like us brits do.....any one can walk in,something else our toddler did.

there's not much of a beach in cala 'n forcat,we walked the 25 minutes to pirates cove where they have a nice but small beach.

I think we would stay at the Los Delfines again but will wait untill our little boy is older.Overall a brilliant first holiday.

“Loved Los Delfines”

Los Delfines Hotel

Jul 8, 2008

This the second time I have stayed at the Los Delfines with my two children aged 5 & 9 and I can honestly say that both stays have been absolutely brilliant. Staff are helpful and friendly, (even the bar man who was a bit miserable last year has cheered up!), rooms are clean and plenty big enough for a family of four, maid service is excellent with daily towel changes. The only minor gripe is that the kitchen could be better equipped, the cooker rings are pretty useless and there was no corkscrew but there was a kettle, toaster and a microwave, so ok for making breakfast and snacks.

Pool areas were always immaculate with plenty of sunbeds, (they don’t lock them up now) these had been replaced since the last time I stayed and were a lot more comfortable. The kids reps did a fantastic job during the day organizing various activities and then continued to entertain the children with the mini disco in the evening. The evening entertainment was very good, my kids especially enjoyed the axe thrower and the Chinese acrobats, all entertainment stopped around 11.30pm and there was never an issue with noise at night.

As we were in the apartments we didn’t eat in the hotel restaurant itself, just got food a couple of times from the pool snack bar which I thought was good value for money. The resort itself has loads of choice of places to eat, our favorites were the water park with the bouncy castles and trampolines and the Plaza Domingo which has a free child’s play room full of toys, ride on cars and even shows films for the kids, good entertainment for the adults and reasonably priced food and drink.

I would definitely recommend these apartments to families with younger children, older teenagers would probably struggle a bit for things to do in the evenings and am already looking to book again for next summer.

“Great Food”

Los Delfines Hotel

Jul 3, 2008

Having read the previous reviews we were a bit concerned about staying at this hotel but were very pleasantly surprised. Friendly staff, clean and comfortable room, fabulous and extremely clean swimming pools. The food was varied and delicious and the staff in the restaurant couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. The resort was lively enough to be interesting but not so lively that it was noisy and intrusive. All in all an excellent holiday.

“Better than expected”

Los Delfines Hotel

May 12, 2008

Having read a number of reviews on these apartments, I expected the worse. The rooms are basic, but clean and spacious enough. They have obviously given the place a bit of an overhaul and the apartment seemed to be freshly painted with new curtains and bedspreads. Did have a bit of a musty smell, but as I say, it was clean. The pool area and the Reception area are all well maintained and of a very high standard. The sunbed problem also seems to have been resolved as there were tons of the things and many of them unused. None were locked at night and although it was early in the season, the place was still at least two thirds full, so there was plenty of sunbeds for everybody and lots of room to place them. The apartments are in a good location, very close to a the rocky cove with no real beach but great swimming and snorkeling. 20 minutes walk to a small sandy beach. The entertainment staff were great for the kids and got to know all their names by the end of the week. The shows at night were also very good especially the Abba Show and the Chinese Acrobat show. My kids are young and the place was very safe and child friendly. They made lots of friends and loved the mini disco and shows. I would definately recommend this place. It is not 5 star luxury and is basic, but not as bad as you might be led to believe by some of the reviews. My only complaint was that we had to vacate our apartment by 12 and were not being collected until 8 pmand they were not able to offer us any accomodation even for a few hours, although plenty of apartments were empty!!

“ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC”

Los Delfines Hotel

We stay at the Los Delfines appartments every year and sometimes even twice and we have done for the past 10 years. Although the appartments are basic and could do with a lick of paint they are kept very clean. It is amusing to get up early and sit on your balcony and watch the sad people who sit by the locked sunbeds from 7am in the morning to wait until they get unlocked at about 8.30am!!! We never stay round the pool as it gets too noisy, there is a lovely bar called Maxis which is right by the sea and they have free sunbeds to use, it isnt suitable for young children as the rocks lead to the sea which is about 20 foot deep at the edge. We normally eat out everynight and find the restauranct sa calderetta is fantastic the staff their really make you feel welcome. The square is very good for live entertainment although you need to get there early to get a good seat. We also find the bar Tropical Kiss very good, we have known the owner Minolo for many years and his staff are good fun and the cocktails are the best in the resort. We will be booking to go again next year.
