We stayed here for four nights and we really enjoyed our stay! We splurged on a balcony view room #303 and weren't disappointed! Everyday we sat on our balcony & drank local wine and had great views of the Sorrento coastline & Mt. Vesuvius! It was sureal!
Hotel was clean, the staff was great, they offer the use of computers w/ internet which was awesome! You just ask the front desk for your user name & password.
The room we stayed in had a deep bath tub which was perfect for soaking sore muscles!! Which became a nightly ritual!
Breakfast buffet in the morning was just enough to keep us going till lunch. The coffee was good and they had croissant's, sliced meats, cheeses, yogert and several other danish like goodies! They do offer additional items (bacon, eggs, fresh fruit) for an additional cost.
The restaurant in hotel was pricey but good (we ate there one night and had the place all to ourselves!!) We had the steak filet w/ truffles and a pasta dish that was made out of zucchini flowers which was amazing!! There red house wine was excellent too!
I LOVED walking the trail which takes you down to the town center. It is cobblestone and takes you through olive groves! Walking down & up this every day was one of our highlights! It is about a mile but only takes 10 minutes down & about the same coming back up! We never took the shuttle the hotel has, just didn't seam to work out for us.
We had dinner twice at a wine bar/restaurant called Holiday Pub Inn (Sole di Sorrento) off of Via P.R. Giuliani 66. The food was amazing and the guy running the place (I think he was the owner, he was the only person there His name (I think) was Alberlo he was really nice. His family makes Lucky 7 Limoncello and he gave us lots of samples to try. ( recommend the Limoncello cream)
This was a great base for side trips, we went to Naples, Capri, Pompeii & Amalfi. Sorrento train station & marina is within walking distance (if your up for it) it's about 20-30 minute walk. We only took one taxi and that was when we arrived via train and had no idea where our hotel was. Cost 20 euro's flat fee!
Overall had a great stay here, only complaint I have after 4 days staying here is....... The day we were suppose to check out which was around noon. I went to take a shower and waited.....and waited.....and waited...... NO hot water???? Not sure if they shut the hot water off to get you to checkout earlier! =) but taking a freezing cold shower was not the funniest experiences of my trip! But it sure did wake me up!!
