My husband and I have just got back from 3 fantastic nights at the Luna Baglioni. We had booked a superior room but on arrival were upgraded for free to a junior suite which was gorgeous, beautiful Venetian furnishings, Murano chandeliers, marble bathroom with a Jacuzzi bath, plasma TV. It was on the first floor overlooking a Calle so didn’t have a view but it was very quiet. Each evening while we were out a maid would come into our room to turn the bed down but also light candles by the bed and place slippers out for you.
My only negative point about the room was that there wasn’t any tea or coffee making facilities.
We ate in the Canova restaurant the first night which was expensive (but not so bad considering what you pay elsewhere for less). The food was lovely and the service was better than we have ever had anywhere in the world. The best of the meals we had in our 3 days.
Breakfast is 25 euros each which we decided was not worth it so instead choose to grab a coffee and pastry when we were out.
The reception staff were generally pleasant, although the concierge was not the most happiest of people, but found them efficient, polite and useful.
The hotel is in a fantastic location, just meters away from the San Marco / Vallaresso vaporetti stop so it is easy to get around the island and from the bus/train station. Harry’s bar is also at the end of the street but don’t bother to go there as it was the biggest waste of money / let down we had during our stay in Venice.
We can’t comment on what the normal rooms are like but we loved the Luna and would highly recommend it.
